Was at nets today and a coach in the other net has this device which allowed him to fling the ball, ie bowl. It was a plasticy poll thing with a cup at the end of it for the ball. Does anyone know what this is or where I could get one?

All good pet shops

Thats the one! cheers guys. Anyone ever used one? experiences?
-
Well they're used by England batting coach Graham Gooch, so they can't be bad......
-
Yeah I have- great idea, not that easy to face, however it's quite hard to control at good pace if you're the feeder..
-
I used roco (i think) at nets, its pretty cool and frightening to bat against!
-
So you can't slow the speed up to prevent it being near 80mph?
-
yeah you can do it however fast you want, but (No Swearing Please) scary when someone just picks it up not used it before and it could be at your head with or without bouncing and they dont mean it!
-
Lol that's why I'd use it for 5-10 minutes before so I don't kill anyone :L
-
Haha i just went right in, every single one i bowled was a bounder lol!!
-
Our 1's skip says I'm the worst person at throw downs cos I work him over with bouncers, yorkers and slower balls lol
-
Is it different to the pet thing, or could you use one of those?
-
I might have used the pet one (hence I was so rubbish...)- it wouldn't be £21 for nothing, must have some special technology or something..
-
Yeah its different to pet things, i've tried a pet one and its not as good, quick or accurate, mainly because it doesnt fit a ball in well and doesnt release the same every time, but i did buy a crappy £1 one!!
-
Might consider investing in one if I make enough from JOSS :)
-
Well worth it or mine is anyway
-
Best place to get one at the mo?
-
roco, you got the club or pro one?

Obviously, they are for cricket not for your Labrador.

I have the pro one
Plus the sidearm website is the best place to get them well worth it for nets

To play.
2 year rehab process to hopefully allow me to play cricket next season. Had another setback last week when I failed to run 20 meters. I'll figure it out for nets I'm sure.
IF the injuries go away, hopefully to show the club that I can bowl/bat a bit. Don't care which team I get into, as long as I get into one.
Should be interesting wielding a bat for the first time in years.
