Right did a measurement of my pads i need there between 39-40cm and that makes me need Small Mens and i have already liked small pads with a small compact top hat.
Sounds funny but the best pad i have found fit wise is the Hunts County Clipper does anybody have any suggestions
I like to wear them low as possible not to bothered about design anybody got any ideas...
-
To see what size pads required
from what points do you measure ?
-
Picked up a pair of Ayrtek moderns yesterday along with some other bits :) had them on when I got back and they sit really low and are light as anything. No traditional top hat to worry about and really comfortable IMO. Will need to be shaped but if you like the look I'd reccomend those mate
-
Any pics of these anywhere?
-
Yeah on our website :)
-
Website Mate. I'll get some of mine up on kit thread when I have all my gear :) they are really nice though, bloody comfortable for a modern pad and pics don't do them justice

middle of the knee cap down to the instep - where the tongue of your shoe would sit.
-
I am investing in some SAF's mate. Might be worth a look (not to detract from the Ayrtek chaps above...they are quality by the sounds of it. Pidge slept in his helmet all weekend by the sounds of it)
saf are top quality pads made from the same vendor as my last pair
i measure from a bit different i measure 1cm further down from the arch as i like them sat low and still need 40cm pads.
ProWannabe we talking the ccc cut ones ayrtek modern had 2 sets of them not to my liking
it a bugger but as people know iam a fussy bugger with softs and sick of buying 10 pairs a season...
-
right got to make my decision soon the wife is buying for Christmas
THE SHORTLIST

I do not like big brands by and large but can not find many smaller brands who do small mens
-
Legends look really smart!
-
this years blades?
-
they do but the top strap looks set a little high
i very picky in every sense that there downside
yes mate small mens
only drama i have with kookaburra apart from being a (big brand not to keen there) there top hats sit a little big and floppy for my liking in the past ala RP Kahuna
-
I'm picky as you like mate as well, going with the Arytek elites in small mens. Was looking at the Blades but have a larger top hat.
What's the cheapest you've been the Blade 950's for?
-
Dave, forgive me if im intruding a bit, would it not be worth asking one of the Indian makers to do you a pair exactly how you want them?
-
ayrtek elites does he make small mens not sure he does
Rich i had a pair made last season for me but sold them on from Chase
Not sure a Indian maker would make up 1 pair for me...
So Tom does have small mens TOM????
-
i have the online stocking kahuna rp's. They are a bit smaller than the english ones and have a nice top hat.
i can measure up if you like?
-
That was my pair mate a online stockiest pair think there at 41cm
my budget is 120 pound for the pads
best i have seen kookaburra blades are £84 nicker i think
-
go for the blades, they look the best!
-
I'm 5ft 9 and our standard pads fit me fine, haven't done small mens as it means having too many sizes in stock...may have to get hold of sone osm tho for big dave so if u did want some doing could find out the cost and lead time ???
-
I'm only 5.9 and my Ayrtek pads fit me nicely. Wasn't expecting the top hat to be as small either. Very Nice pads and great price IMO
-
So me being 6.2 wouldn't fit :(
-
good to see so much support for tom pro you using the new green ones
-
Yes mate the elite model. Really nice pads mate. I got some modern ones as well which I really like now I've tried them on properly and they are shaping easily enough. They are ridiculously light.
-
Roco wears them at 6ft 3 as well mate and big Dave is 6.6 and said they are ok but would see if osm were better fitting so I'm sure they will be ok for u ;)
-
Big Dave your going to have to spill the beans at this rate he normally uses normal mens he has had 2 pairs of me the bugger
-
Good! Don't want any discrimination!! :)
-
Tom, are these green 2011 Elites I'm getting this weekend not small mens then? Or am I getting confused again...
-
I will be getting the vantage players pads and gloves in small mens Dave. I think they are the nicest pads around (and a small brand too)
-

-
Wasn't really looking at the stickers. Very cheap!
-
Dave, perhaps try to get a lower end model pads? I mean rather than buying top of the range try mid range pads as lower end compare to higher end fit better

Dave, I think I've got a pair of these in my stock box - they look exactly the same, and they are really, really nice - quite light too.
If you think you might buy them, talk to me first.
-
only problem though with pads like this is like the different ss matrix pads out there your never sure of the protection quality of the pads many pads looking the same but with different engines in springs to mind

-
Ha and the chase amazing anti scuff sheet that lights up and glows you mentioned? Are you sure dan is not messing with you!?!?
-
Any forum friendly christmas discount Arytek? I was looking at the Traditional Pads for my brother for christmas. Or do you have any of the pad samples left?
-
No discounts on the kit I'm afraid as it's the new range for next season and is already cheaper than most other brands clobber...I'm sure simmy and prowannabe will vouch for the quality of it....
Scuff sheets are gel like to enhance the grains Leo and can be sourced ;)

No worries, I'm just trying to keep my christmas costs in check as it always seems to get out of hand. I can't decide between the Arytek traditionals and some screaming cat from cricket box.
-
toms pads and gloves are cheap enough for the quality of them :)
-

any more info mate?
-
How does a scuff sheet enhance the grains ? And does it really change colour after impact? Info please Tom
I would also like to know about these featherlight traditional looking pads
-
its just a clearer type of material thats more gel like so not as cloudy as the hammer edge style of scuff sheet so makes the grains appear clearer.....not surr about it changing colour that would make it pretty ugly quickly!
-
Tom, what colours are your new softs for 2011???
-
elite are black green and silver and the premier are red, black and silver
-
might be getting a few quid off me for the elite stuff mate, been looking for some nice green coloured softs and kooks are over priced!!!!
-
cool well there are a fair few pics in the link below.....

£60-£85
any ideas folks
-
All pads give good quality protection at 60-85mph, as far as I know. Of course except the lowest range ones I believe. I think there are lots of pads that'll give him great protection for less than £60, eg. SS ton matrix. Though do ask the smaller bakers on here (eg. h4l and ayrtek, as h4l are doing discounts on lh gear ATM I think...) I'm right handed but have some eft handed newb gt cadbury youths pads which I could give you for £15 if you wanted...but these could be spares, or net pads, as you wouldn't Want to wear the match ones out too much.
-
Our elite ones fall towards the £60 end of ur budget + P&P or could have premier pads and gloves for £85
-
mb bubber sher are light and really comfortable
-
mb bubber sher ?
in welsh, lol
