Title: WANTED: PeteHosk + Talisman
Post by: Wills on December 10, 2010, 09:13:55 PM
Reward: £1.50, £1.50 P&P :)

Basically, I haven't been able to get in hold of the two for around two weeks, and I've sent payment to one ages ago and am about send payment to the other.
Anyone have a clue on their whereabouts?

Regards
Wazza

I'm in a similar position, started a thread last week.

I must admit my attitude is now changing from 'not to worry, the delay is not a problem' to 'ok, this is starting to become irritating and slightly concerning.' I'm sure he will come good as everyone says, but simple fact is, if you charge money to provide a service, when you get your money, you better provide your service.

I hope Mike is well, and I hope there is a good reason for him seemingly having fallen off the face of the earth.

I have just been in contact with Mr Talisman - he has been living in sin with Pete for the last 3 months and promises he will be back on Monday when he is back from his travels.

Apparently they are a on a romantic dinner at KFC discussing laminates, willow prices, bat pressing and a new extra special £450 MONSTER... ;)

Just looked at there recent posts. Mike has not posted for 10 days so could be on a fortnight's holiday. Has said himself in the past that he is forgetful with so much going on. Sure he will come good and sort things out on his return. Wazza no point in paying for anything until you hear from him.
Pete hosk hasn't posted since Nov 10th. Has a very good reputation on here for buying and selling but a month+ is a long time to wait your purchase.

The thing is I haven't heard from Pete ever since the 11th November, Mike is just being himself I guess ;)

Mike must be in heaven if he's managed to get a £450 burger from KFC :D

pete was good to do business with when i made a deal with him, never done business with mike but from what i read on here i wouldnt buy something from him that i required urgently, although seems to make happy customers when they do receive their stuff!

Having delt with both Mike and Pete, I can assure you that your money is in safe hands.

Things can get delayed with Mike sometimes as he does a lot of running around buying and selling willow and alos setting-up his own unit.

Pete is very prompt and excellent in his communication.

I too am a bit concerned as my emails and texts have gone unanswered for a long time.

pete is hard at work i think!

and mike is probably collating all types of kit everywhere!

still a shame on both parts! especially as many of us are waiting upon items!

Busy or not mate, it takes less than 5 minutes to come here and make a thread explaining how busy they are. NO-ONE fails to have a spare 5 minutes in a fortnight.

Could they have ran away together??

Joking apart Sam, I have seen much more trusted and established members 'go bad' overnight, and alot of money be lost. There was a chap  on my shooting forum who starting importing scopes and selling them for much less than UK prices. It ran smoothly for months, everyone happy. Then one day he vanished. With tens of thousands of money belonging to his friends.

Stranger things happen gents.

However this wont happen in this case! Those of you who are expecting stuff from Mike, if you want pm me with what you are expecting and whether you have paid for it and I will collate the list and give it to him. He has been helping a man in need and will come good.

I know it wont :)

I'm glad someone seems to have got to the bottom of this now, and hope it can be resolved quickly. I just wish something could have been said sooner.

Yeah everyone has just come to accept it, which is probably wrong after we've paid our money! Good job its off season though.

Surprised how quickly some start questioning the credibility of a couple of longtime members. Thought reputation was everything in this business 8)

I think there should be a forum rule. When you list an item to sell you must be ready to post it within two days, because this is happening so frequently with Mike. I know he's a busy man, but we are all busy people. I'm 100% confident that your money is safe with Mike, but it is very frustrating not knowing whats going on.....

Show me where their credibility has been questioned. This thread is born out of frustration and a lack of communication, not malice. If sellers do not like threads about this being made, then the answer is simple, do not treat their customers like expendable commodities.

Perhaps spend a little more time integrating into forum life before stirring the pot again next time. When your £200+ suddenly vanishes for weeks I will expo t nothing but infinite patience and decorum.

Until all items have been delivered, as much as certain absent members are defended by others, the truth is we just don't know.

I'm not sure it is workable on a two day system, but certainly a week. There is a general lack of willingness by authorities on forums to punish shoddy behaviour of established sellers. Not a criticism, but a truth. Never does opinion side with the newbie who has been waiting weeks for his item. For all the kind words in this thread, we are no closer to getting our items, so I'm not breathing that sigh of relief quite yet.

@ jonpinson - I really don't see the point of three different comments one after the other on a topic which doesntr belong to you. People have their opinions and there are some people out there who, like Mike and Pete, who have more important things to take care of. I love how a person relatively new to the forum in comparison to Mike is proposing a new system with regards to orders. Just find out how many happy customers Mike has, he makes up for his lack of time in other ways.

Wazza i know mike and pete are reliable guys. I've always received the stuff the next day after ordering off mike. But when you dont receive an item you paid alot of money for after a couple of weeks you start to worry. Hopefully its all sorted quickly!

I see where both of you are coming from, though wazza, I think jon has no issues with mike as they've dealt with each other before, but you too would worry when you'd be getting a £200+ pro bat..., no?

Haven't paid Mike yet, but I will the moment he answers my emails.
Pete has been very busy recently, I did pay him an undisclosed fee ;)

Just hope the wait is worth it!

wazza, I think jonpinson has a point. Nobody should be 'untouchable' on the forum. This is your thread for sure, but without opinions, ultimately there would be no thread

Ah that old chestnut 'you're new to the forum, youre not entitled to an opinion.' Let me tell you something, until my items or my money arrives with me I am entitled to whatever opinion I choose. If people never kicked up a stink in situations such as this, it would happen more often.

I don't really understand your attitude, you start a thread explain the unfortunate situation you are in, but if anyone in a similar position adds to your thread you throw a bit of a hissy fit.

All very odd.

Only two people have pm'd me - Jon and any one else - please drop me a line with what you are waiting for, I spoke to Mike yesterday and if I can get a list to him he has said he will be back in touch on Monday
Title: Re: WANTED: PeteHosk + Talisman

Jon what I'm getting at is the fact that Mike makes a living off this forum - all i asked in my initial post was if anyone knew their whereabouts. I don't want to damage any business Mike or Pete get in the future so I am just generally against people who are trying to get them replaced

Peplow, could you do the honours of locking this thread please?

Mate with respect to you and Mike, now I have some idea of the situation I will waiting until the inevitable backlog of work has been cleared. As Ive made clear from the start, I am in no great rush for the bat, I just wanted some kind of information about the situation. I'm sorry it had to be sought this way, and I have in no way intended to cast aspersions on Mike. But due to a complete lack of communication I felt I had no choice.

Thankyou to all who have helped gather the information, I can rest assured now.

Jon
