Post by: espocrespo on December 21, 2010, 11:20:54 PM
I'm sure everyone has seen Sachin's current bat but I'm just wondering what company made that bat?

One of them seem to be RNS Larson.

Is the Larson bat a 2 spring handle or is it just the angle of the picture.

The bottom bat is RNS annd has a sticker on the handle, the whiter blade has 3 springs

Current bat is definately a BAS. it used to have it written on it, but sanded it off rather badly.
It looks like it has been back to the factory a few times since then ( 3000 or whatever runs ago)

SRT is known to bat left handed in the nets vs the spinners from time to time.

He refuses to do so in matches tho

Yeh saw that imagine how many runs he would have got if hed been using the new one rather than repairing the old one.

Bet England wished he'd carried on using the old one

That 'old' one got him about 20 tons mate, the bloke could use a wet mop and still murder anyone in the world

True dat!! The little master to walk out with a 3lb cumberland sausage and still have the fielders chasing leather all day. He is without a doubt the Greatest batsmen of the modern era.

The new one sure seemed to fly.  some lovely straight sixez sweetly struck.

Maybe shows how much the game is in the head that carried on using a bat that he had total confidence in rather than, a newer performing bat.

Sure is a master of his art.

Tbh in past year has converted me I do think he is the greatest to ever play the game as the don had the high avg but not over the length of career that sachin has

i bet he still at least twice (2) times better than all of us left handed...

I love the Dons figures but he is without doubt the best i have seen in my life time

Whats impressive is his love of the game still after this time.  Great that he seems to play with a smile on his face.

For all the enjoyment we get from discussing his bats the truth is he is just very very good. Give his bat to a tailender and he will still be a tailender.

Greatest batsman I've ever seen by quite some way.

Exactly, he could go into the media, business etc and make just as much money but he is clearly doing it for the love.

I kind of hope he retires after the world cup so he can go out at the very top. It would be sad to see him have a poor 12/18 months and retire because he'd lost it.

Got to love Sachin Tendulkar, class player, what with all the fuss around him in India it's amazing that he has maintained his high standards for so long, mind you, out in the middle is probably the most privacy he gets!

On a side note I notice that MG2 cricket (google it) state that they have made bats for him, Dhoni and Sangakarra. You can even buy replicas. Don't know how long ago this was, just going by what they say on the website. It's not a company I'm familiar with. I'd be interested to know if anyone knows anything about them?

yes marty graham i had one of his bats off a forum member was nothing special.

I think he just turned up and showed the players his bat and not sure he makes them either or just shapes them

good publicity though

A bit of cunning marketing eh? Sneaky but clever all the same....no lie in stating you made bats for these guys, the fact they didn't ask you to is neither here nor there!  :D :D

Thanks for the info....
