Has anyone been to Talent cricket or Owzat cricket, I'm considering going to one and looking for people to give me there opinions on them.
-
Owzat Cricket have very helpful staff, never tried Talent but their website is very smart. I'm sure both would help you out with whatever you wanted.
-
Thanks :)
Was gonna pop up with some Xmas money and hope I can persuade my parents to let
Me have ANOTHER bat
-
I found Owzat very expensive and not as customer friendly as some other stores.
No experience with Talent
-
Never used Talent but found Owzat's customer service first class and highly recommend.
-
do they have loads of bats in stock all the time?
-
had a mooch around Talent about a month or 2 back and it had a decent selection of bats and softs, it had most bats there just not many of the same bat
decent cricket shop all in all
-
Espo, if youre getting a new bat, why not get one from a custom batmaker on the forum? :) though if you've got quite a few from here already, then I understand!
-
Talent are good (never been to their shop though) but they phoned me up to say they didn't have something in stock and would I like anything else instead before shipping.
Nice people
-
Owzat are friendly people who will help you out with any of your needs in the shop. Prices are decent also.
-
best player at my club swears by talent cricket - should imagine that its well worth a look.

Talent have quite a few bats kicking around in the back of the shop, they have their own brand of Talent bats as well which are decent.
The Custom Bats are made by Hunts and they sometimes have a couple kicking around, they're cheaper because they have no stickers and are good bats. I've bought 2 from there and they've been good quality. They don't mind if you take your time picking stuff, I once spent 2 hours in there chatting and only bought an anti-scuff but I play cricket with Paul who runs it and he knows what I'm like.
Owzat is a bit farther for me up the motorway, 15 mins to Talent or 30 to Owzat. I haven't been ther for a while but they have a good selection of kit and they always have the clothes I want in my size which is nice. I did buy the best bat I've ever owned from there (GN Megadrive) so going on that I would recommend them.
It really depends on your brand preference or what you are looking to buy? both shops are helpful and a phone call to them for a quick chat might help your choice.
The B&Q near to Talent has a breakfast van which sells the most delicious Sausage cobs if that helps.

Cheers guys, I'm tempted to go to Talent, I mean I want some puma/mongoose pads and gloves. I dont really need another bat but I always want another and I specifically want to look at GN GM and Pumas bats
-
I will be going to see rob pack next week as want to have a look at the new puma stuff and his own of course
-
Just whatever you do don't use Cricket Direct

Talent is always a great shout ! always have loads of bats and softs and like beach said he does not mind you walking around picking everything up! last time i was there he gave me a bowling machine ball and some scales and i was i heaven. Then in the end he may give you a small discount as they are very friendly :)
