Pics taken on my iphone. . .hence the quality is lacking.
-
Will you be reviewing them and describing them for us? They do look very nice!
Johan
-
Is that the voodoo that was for sale here recently?
-
Yes . . . it is
still for sale if you're interested.
i might put up a clearer picture of it in the nice grains thread.
-
Love all the bats, but especially the Millichamp. I assume this is the bespoke one you had and how on earth did you get a set of the puma millichamp stickers!? Looks awesome!!
May I ask what the two blanks are... Very, very nice bats.
-
The blanks are an AS G200 and a Brimble Special . . . . . . .
Yes that is my bespoke bat made by Rob last April. It is huge, like a distinction but due to being a lightweight cleft i had a fuller toe rather than a normal distinction shaped toe.
-

Ah you are the seller. Duh. Sorry.
-
Loving the M&H Puma. Brings back old memories. One of the best bats I have used
-
why would you want more than 1-2 bats, how many can you use at the crease ?
-
good point. . . . maybe i need to sell a few
-
look good fella, see the pictures worked out okay too :)
but damn those terrible iPhone pictures could look even better.
-
What is the M and H Puma bat? Looks interesting
-
Yes that is my bespoke bat made by Rob last April. It is huge, like a distinction but due to being a lightweight cleft i had a fuller toe rather than a normal distinction shaped toe.
This is the shape that M&H adopted for the Distinction from May/June last season. The Distinction I bought from eBay has a simialr profile.
-
what weight would that be then? looks like a lot of wood
-
when i had this made . . . the distinction shape was still the original one. they may have adopted it later.
i will post some profile pics. . . watching the ashes. . . 2 down
-

My Distinction is 2.9 and it is huge. Youc an see my post in the PAvillion section. This is the speciality of these Disinction bats. Low middle, lot of wood and excellent pick-up and balance (just as it should be on any other 2.9 bat)
-
is it a bit "bottomy"
small middle?
-
not at all. . . . it is a complete monster of a bat
-
is it a bit "bottomy"
small middle?
mid mid to low low middle. Hope you got the point (sorry the best I could describe the middle on the Distinctions).
-
sorry my description os poor.
I was guessing at it having a slightly bottomy pick up and a concentrated middle, but was wondering if it is slightly unforgiving if not hit out of the middle
looks lovely, hence the interest!
-
my mate brought back one of those puma/Milli's from OZ and it was an absolute belter, very similar shape!!!!
what weight is yours?
This is the shape that M&H adopted for the Distinction from May/June last season. The Distinction I bought from eBay has a simialr profile.
so this is the new shaped distinction? isnt it basically a retro?
-
whats the blank on the far left like?
-
Mate, which blank is which? Is the one on the far right the AS G200, or is that one the Brimble Special?? :)
-
im guessing the one with the hammer edge is the mike special....
is that newbery a laminate as it sure as hell lokks like one
-

Because sir I assume like many of us here there is a certain joy garnered from being exposed to a myriad of world class bat makers, as we here are today. I have many more bats than shown in this thread and there are members with many more than I. I respect those who choose a more utilitarian approach, have one bat and are happy, but I do not question their choice. Perhaps you could extend a similar politeness to those who choose to have several bats, rather than making completely unnecessary negative comments. If you feel so strongly, why not start a thread to express your thoughts on the matter? I'm sure it would make for an interesting topic.
-
Are we going to see them individually reviewed in the future at all, especially the Millichamp and the one off Mike?
Whats the deal with the B52, sure looks like a laminate...
Nothing wrong with having more than one bat. But you've got a long way to go if you want to catch up with the Hosk!!
-
A review of the black cat wouldn't go a miss ,
it looks immense !
-
I don't think he's reviewing that one as he's currently selling it on here, so using it once would knock off a lot of the bat's value. Though that bat does look a belter. I very much like your collection mate.
@oldfudger- fair enough mate, there are definitely 2 schools of thought on this, as it is true you could only use 1 bat at a time at the crease, but lots of people are very eager to try out the custom brands that this forum has to offer etc etc...as JOn said, if you started up a thread on this matter, it would make for very interesting reading in my opinion!

I wonder how much he is selling it for ? Would be rather interesting to here the price mate ,

lol
Damn I've been outworded again ;)
Seriously though, with all the bat hoarding that many of us are guilty of, it would be refreshing to see an alternative opinion voiced in a thread.
I look forward to it.

Whats the deal with the B52, sure looks like a laminate...
What makes you say that?
-

What makes you say that?
Looks two tone. With the front part having some heartwood and the back piece not being heartwood. It looks bloody massive as well!!
I could be talking rubbish though and it may just be a seriously low density cleft... How about you spill the beans!
-
just the wood on the edge. . . . i'll put up a close up if u like
-
voodoo looks a stormer not much better looking on this forum i like it
-
Thank you Dave. . .u know your stuff mate.
it really is a stonking bat.
-
How come you want to sell that Voodoo incidentally? It looks one of the best of the bunch!
Johan
-
Some really lovely bats here mate! What are the weights of them?
-
only selling as i have a few bats already.
also the handle is a bit on the thin side for me. . .i like a thickish oval handle. like a tear drop shape if u know what i mean.
i would defo keep it otherwise.
-
I can vouch for the voodoo's being quality bats, i've stolen one from my brother and its such a nice piece of wood, big thick edges, decent spine, low middle and featherlight pickup..... what more could you want eh
looking forward to seeing the close up pics of the b52 as it certainly looks like a lammy to me ;)
-
Out of interest, which one is your match bat or do they all get an equal run out?
-
My main match bat is/was the puma millichamp. . .its a beast.
the redback. . . . i will never sell. . . .for a light bat. . . .its a gun.
but the newbery is gonna out do them all.
the AS was my match bat a couple of years ago. . . was very good and still is. has recently been rehandled by Mike/Newbery
The others are brand new. . .i can tell the voodoo is going to go like nothing else just by tapping up a ball on it.
The blank brimble. . . .needless to say is a total plank.
they are all in the 2lb 9-10 ish range.
i have made a few of them heavier by having a couple of grips on them as i like a thick handle.
pics coming up of the newbie in a mo.
-
What weight is the redback, just out of interest, It must be special, if its lighter than 2.10, as that is the start of the Allegiance Weight range I believe..
-
i havent weighed any of them. . . . the pick up feel 2lb 8/9 ish, could be the way its balanced out. i am just going by pick up and feel rather than dead weight
-
Oh right. Fair enough, if you get a light allegiance (ie. 2.10 or under), you're quite lucky. All Redbacks seem guns :)

Looks lush mate, I assume all those coins are to cover up the huge join on the lamination... :p One of Mikes I guess.
Wouldnt mind a few close ups on the Millichamp or Special.
-
