Hello,
Has anyone got either of these bats and able to assist in whoch is better etc?

I have used all the 3 Adidas bats and I feel the best profile id that of the Pellera followed by the Incruza.
-
From personal experience I would also recommend the Pellara out of the three.

I had a good look at a Libro today. You will like it if you are into very traditional bats. It had no concaving and relatively thin edges and not much wood in the middle. Much like the Salix Vantage of around 10 years ago.
-
my mate has a brand new adidas libro pro bat for £179 including postage,he told me to help him sell it.
-
The Libro I saw was a county grade 3 model and to be fair looked a good piece of wood, about 15 grains and a bit of heartwood. Trouble is it was priced at £225, which is nothing but a piss take for a grade 3.

If it was the county model, it would have been grade 2, but that's still a very very high price for a grade 2. I've not heard that much good about Adidas bats, that's probably as I don't know all too many people who use them. Are you heart set on an Adidas? Maybe worth reconsidering and then buying a bat off a forum maker?
-
The bat labelling stated county grade III.
-
Ahh interesting: ridiculous price for a grade 3 or a grade 2 anyway.
-
If that sticker had said G1 then suddenly it would have been a bargain. Ignore the grading - buy a bat on performance and looks.
As I've said previously check out companies G2/3s for great deals when hand selecting. GN 5*s etc.

No way to test performance in this shop. It will have been downgraded for some reason, and £225 is alot of money for any bat.
-
There's about 25 different grades of willow sold to batmakers. Why are only 4 grades sold by manufacturers?
-
so what one company classes as a G1 bat can be vastly diferrent to another then?
-
Precisely.
-
Who grades there bats the strictest and who's grade 1,s would you say is the highest spec?
-
Gentlemen that is a debate for another day, it doesn't really help the thread starter with his question.
What you say is all well and good and you can come here and make us look stupid with you 'insider knowledge' but the simple fact is if a company has x number of grades, I'm not paying G1 prices for a G3 bat. I also don't believe for a moment that Adidas has bought all the best willow so their G3 is as good as everyone elses G1. Baloney.
-
Jon, you are so frustrating. Rather than moaning or checking that every post is on topic spend more time reading what I have to say, ask questions and then pass your opinion. I'm in a very fortunate role and I post on here to help others out, I'm not trying to flog gear - merely trying to educate and give a little bit of info which may help you find a next beauty. Whether it's from a competitor or not.
An Adidas G3 could easily be as good as a competitors G1. Its not uncommon to upgrade G4s to G1's or turn handmade clefts into G1/2 bats. I dont know what Adidas' policy is on willow - they may/may not upgrade. They certainly won't get all the best willow, but their system may mean a 20 grain half heartwood pinger is a Club - whereas it may be a top of the range bat from another company.
Its all about performance - so why fuss over price tags and the grade sticker. Buy the best performing bat you can for your money, whether it's an Adidas G3, a Redback G1 or a GM G2. The current system is flawed, so use it to your advantage. Buy from a cricket specialist who knows their onions and where possible handpick a bat. As for prices £300 (after discounts) for a companies top line bat is about par for the course for the market it's not extortionate, no-one has ever got rich selling cricket bats.

Mine should turn up today, will post some pics later.
Looks good ayrtek, cant wait for mine now
-
Yeah noted is was listed as grade 2 on the front sticker, not going to moan as it was very generous of AOC to give it to me :)
Im sure someone at our club will make use of it....anyone know if these come pre-knocked in ???
-
i've got a Pellara County and it's a lovely bat with great looking willow.
i'd say it's "pre-prepared" but you'll still want to knock it in a bit more and possibly oil it too

What happened to the sticker on the toe or is it just the light?
-
just the light i think mate, the boots werent too bad either but have passed them onto my Dad now as my asics are doing me ok atm. Think this will find its way into one of the younger players kit bags later on as well knowing our lot at training lol
-
I knocked in a Pellara Club for a mate, it was decent. But my mate thought it was quite dead. It was a shame as I wanted to sell him my Lekka but instead of heeding my advice he went and bought a worse bat for the same price.
Having said that the profile on the Incurza looks nice, I had always been interested in that one when I was considering an Adidas last year...

My County arrived today, very impressed with the Grade 3 Willow
