The general concensus is they make good bats but don't expect great things in aftersales service.

jacko there are a couple of topics on warsop venom pros and reviews that may help if you use the search function or hav a browse through the warsop section: http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?board=38.0
i think there are another couple of topics floating round in different sections on the matter too.
i agree with jonpinson with regards to quality and aftersales service. i hope that helps.

I love the venom pro I bought, if thats any help. (its in the Warsop section)
Even though they are brilliant bats, I do think they pick up slightly heavy (but the middle position makes sense)
I dont really care to much for the pick up in this instance, as it feels great in the hands

I think you can get better for the money, Warsop would be a very nice bat, However H4L, Saf, Redback Vantage, Blackcat could offer something more suited to you.

Why would a H4L or Black Cat be better (or more suited) than a Warsop out of interest?

They do make some cracking bats but remember they are a small business with many loyal clients.I cant completely agree with the poor email customer service as I simply call them and they always answer.Probably best buying from them if you live within distance to make it easier should you have to go back for something. I took a punt and bought a super bat.

They must do very well as they rarely have any discounts or promotions but make sure you haggle as its a good time to presently. Ive seen many Warsops on Ebay at about £120 which are less than a season old. The Forum does spoil us and £150 does get you some very decent willow which makes Warsop seem pricey.

Evidence?

Warsop make good bats but for the quoted price the poster could get a top grade bat made to his spec, and a pair of pads for the same price.

Welcome to the forum, but we are grown ups who share information, not start fights for the sake of it.

You can get top quality wheelies on here for in the region of £40, and there are opportunities to get lovely custom made bats to your specs for £180, which could well be better than Warsop. Have a look at Blue Room, Redback, H4L, SAF, Black Cat (though a bit more expensive), and any of the other brands on here, have seen some lovely Ayrteks and Vantage Bats as well, so do put in a lot of thought, the batmakers on here will, I'm sure, keep you informed all the way through the batmaking process, if its a custom you're after, and there are all too many reviews which prove that the end results will be fabulous. Just be sure to take everything into account, after sales service is important too, as you want a great bat that will last you a long while, and great customer service should anything untoward happen..

I would go with Warsop. All the bats I have got from Warsop have been very good. I have had no problem communicating with Tony. Though they are a bit slow on emails, but if you are desperate to get answers then call (easier way to clarify things).

IMO cannot compare Warsop to the likes of Vantage, H4L or Redbacks etc. as Warsop have a been around for years and have a legacy in batmaking. Similarly you cannot compare to Ayrtek or Black Cat etc. as they do not make their own bats and hence if you are after a custom, then they might not be the right ones to approach.

I rate Redback very highly as well.

Everyone can make a big fat bat, but the art is to make a bat that gives you the 2 Ps - Performace and pick-up.

If you after a off-the-shelf bat then Black Cats are very good. I assume Ayrtek's will be equally good as they supplier is the same

Well i guess thats a start, basically you are gonna get people's opinions on what they have had an experience with hence why people are suggesting other brands that exist on this forum . . .as you can probably tell, rightly or wrongly, Warsop are not that popular here.

In my own experience I would suggest trying a custom made from H4L, great bats and stunning branding.

I have had 3 Warsop Venom Pro bats - the first was hand picked by myself from the workshop there when I was on tour with my team in Essex.
Then I ordered a further 2 a few months later. All 3 bats were decent quality and performed well!!! They tend to be powerful bats with generous middles. I guess the only service you do not get easily is the ability to have the middle where you want it - so the custom made aspect may not be up to the likes of SAF, H4L, etc. And the price went up quite a bit at the start of 2010. And not sure if they are due to increase it again? But I paid £200 for the Venom Pros at the end of 2009. Then they went up £25 or so in one go a couple of months later.
I still think they are very good bats, and offer power and decent quality. The price is a little on the high side. For example Black Cat would offer the same price (give or take a fiver) but the Black Cats I have are slightly better willow and probably a little better performing!
And the likes of SAF, Redback, and H4L (to name just a couple) would offer a full 'fitting' service at an even better price!
So you pays your money and takes your choice I suppose! I'm sure that any option you choose will leave you a happy bunny!

How about Electric Blue.. ;)
I think Blue or Red would look the nicest, blue just shades it for me though, despite Red being my Favourite Colour...
