Does anyone else have this issue or am I just a bit nuts. Here goes....
I currently have 2 main bats, a Newbery uzi sps short blade Stickersd as Ayrtek elite and a brand new custom rob pack BlueRoom. Both are unbelievably good and I get a huge amount of pleasure from using both in the nets. But still.. For reasons unknown I keep thinking about buying another bat, or worse, swapping one just to get a different bat in the kit bag. Am I just being a plonker and has the novelty worn off or do other people have this problem?? Both bats are far superior to anything I've ever used before so why am I getting these ridiculous urges?? Aaarrggghhh!!!

We all have infinite wants, and companies target this mindset through proclaminig USPs and reduced prices at us, by I'm drifiting onto Economics.
I'm sure we all do to some extent, it's just knowing whether to say "No, I'm fine" or say "Why the hell not?" like several members on this forum will happily admit.

I feel your pain!
-
It's awful. I know the chances of me getting another bat equal to these will be slim but I keep finding myself taking pictures ready to offer then deleting the topic or checking the for sale section to see what beauties crop up
-
why do women need more than 4 pairs of black shoes ??? same theory mate they are all essentially black but they will have different styles to each making them "different" ;) thats the way i justify it anyway!
-
Tom that's a brilliant explanation. I just need another pair of going out shoes now I've worn the others. Haha
-
haha when uv got a load of kit in every room mate u have to become more inventive with the excuses ;)
-
haha yeah must be a tough one for you.
I keep deciding to settle on some, then the "novelty" wears off and i change my mind.... annoying!
-
Its an annoyance more than anything else. I think I'll be ok for now as there isn't anything on here to tear me away from either I have. Yeah suppose there's good reasoning behind that Tom, Then again when your just bombarded with the stuff does it not have a reverse aspect and you get sick to the back teeth of seeing it all
-
I feel your pain too Liam. I have 4 real match bats. Redback and SAF will be used, H4L is going to a mate for some TLC for the season, and a Lekka that I have is on its way out, I hope.., then a Net Bat (hopefully!) and a middling bat! :(- My bank balance is LOW: damn CBF in general! Though I can't complain about the quality of the bats :D
-
given up buying bats now as have a good excuse to be saving money lol makes me think twice at least ;)
way i look at it now is that the £200ish will be sat collecting dust as i have 4 other bats that can be used before it lol money can be spent of other things then.....i.e new car and wedding fund lol

I'm sure this is a daily occurence for most forum members.....sure is for me! As long as you justify it as well as Tom has then it all seems perfectly logical and in no way a weird obsession........:D
Wedding fund........wave goodbye to those bats then!!!!
-
Good plan Tom. I think that's my bats covered for the next couple of seasons! Should be buying new ones in 2013!!, though that is if all goes well! :)
-
Thats all good fellas. Or.... I could get another bat :)
-
i look behind the bedroom door and there are 3 bats there worth £1000 sat there that could be alot more useful sat in the bank ;)
doing my sales pitch as a cricket company the world of good......yes buy more bats everyone, you want them, you need them!!!!! (back on track now)
-
I call this first season syndrome - the first 6 months you are on the forum you get crazy urges to buy masses of new kit - bats expecially - we have all been there. Fortunately this does wear off after a while... or until your Mrs finds new ways to spend your cash - see Tom's wedding, or my house extension... :o
-
Yeah, I think you've hit the nail on the head there Buzz. Hopefully all the kit I've bought will last me a long while! :)
-
I have 500 pound budget at the minute and guess what it all going on bats bar maybe a softs or two...
The reason why because i love them and i is sad ......
-
Or the kids although I have the sane feeling I would always like some new willow but got the ayrtek elite special talisman and custom blueroom so I am set for a bit
-
Your probably right buzz, maybe I'll change, or I could get a concentrated dose of that dreaded Hoskins disease people talk about. That sounds like a nasty one to get. The treatments are expensive as well. Usually priced at £180+++ oh dear
-
The kids have had there christmas now i bloody going to have mine.....
I have a few ideas on my list
Another Chase
possible Blueroom
and maybe a few more clefts..
I might have to go up to Huntingdonshire and see Hunts County again always get good deals there
-
You do right Pro. I bought my Xmas gear from the mrs earlier in the year and wish I'd have waited or got it all in bits now but it's good having nothing to buy for the new season. All sorted well in advance which is a first for me .
-
Finished mine off with the bag but the blue room was the cherry on top for me as playing alot more cricket this year indoor plus 2 t20 tournaments and minor county I managed to convince the wife I needed another bat
-
I always crave new gear when I'm playing badly, which is a very nasty habit
-
I'm always looking for the perfect bat to overcome my technical and talent flaws. That's how you make yourself better, right?

Yup, true story, that's what I've heard... Might go buy a signature and make my technique perfect...
