Title: New BAS Vampire Bow 20/20
Post by: iand123 on January 07, 2011, 10:31:26 AM
Picked this up from HDNL's depot yesterday. Really pleased with it, feels lovely and as always "goes really well with the mallet"

Weighs 2lb 10oz and has some lovely straight grains. Picked it up from BAS Vampire UK for £125 as it has a slight ding on the back, should have been £200 so was pretty pleased. Got to knock it in and take some proper photos but here are some taken with the Blackberry

Yeah im pretty pleased with it. Was all set to get one from Asad end of Nov but then my car needed some work meaning i couldnt afford it. Contact told me to contact BAS UK to see if they'd do me a deal and they had this. Its got two small scrapes on the back (one of which is on the sticker) and after seeing pics i snapped it up

Right after seeing this little beauty I have pulled a U-turn on my initial opinion of Asian bats and have enquired about a BAS Guru. Just wondering if anyone has used/seen/smelt/dreamt of or experienced one of these and would be kind enough to pass there opinions?

this is advertised at £199 on the BAS UK website.... do they have some special discounts going on?

The Guru is advertised at £240. The front stickers a copy of the L&W Reserve...

I contacted them to see what their prices were and they said they had this one as a one off cos it had 2 minor dings on the back of the bat, hence the reduced price

These are very good bats. Very good willow and finishing, but I would not pay the prices they are asking.

So if they are the retailers/distributors for the UK, then how come Asad's price are over 25% lower?

Assuming the performance is good, there are companies who would offer that cleft for £350+

Looks lovely. Never got on with BAS bats though. I always found that they picked up quite heavy, but then I haven't tried one for a good 5 years.
