Hi All,
Interested to hear of peoples experiences with Hunt County Bats?
Thanks
-
Best bat I have ever owned. Went down to the factory for a custom made experience and it didn't let me down.
Fantastic willow with fantastic results on performance! The staff are very friendly and helpful too.
If you choose Hunts you wont be disappointed.

I haven't had the above custom made experience but I have had 2-3 that have been ok.
Glorys are pretty good.
Old-style Turbo was the best though :)
-
Which one would you say has the lowest middle?
-
Have a look on the website and see what you can make out from the pics mate

Which shape Glory? I've used the recent 'big edges, big bow' shape and last season's traditional shape. IMO the Indian shape was far better.
Hunts County are very underrated I think. They're very nice bats in my experiences with them. I've never owned one funnily enough but my best mates has had 6 or 7 from them and all very nice.

Website pics makes the glory look too high for me. Was thinking the Triumph looked my best bet, due to length of middle & it seems to go quite low.
-
You could ask them to make you an insignia shape. That has a low middle.
-
I own a Glory, and the middle isn't as high as it looks on the website, well mine isn't anyway. However, my friend owns a Triumph and it is a wonderful bat. Best bat I've owned, and one of the best I've seen. Goes wonderfully, decent price, as Colesy says very underrated. Would recommend to anyone!
-
Glory has a low middle, similar profile to M&H solution. i have a pic of mine i used to own here:

Are they good oval handles. I've been using Newbery & I love the shape of the handles they use. Fancied trying a new bat manufacturer this time.
-
I really like the handles. If you went down there for a custom one they'd do it how you wanted
-
Nice bat Jimba ;)
-
Handles are very nice, large oval

the big edges, big bow bats - there are plenty of really nice Hunts bats available near me - martin berrill sports is about 20 miles. his shop has a really good range.
-
I'm in touch with him at the moment :)
-
he knows his bats
-
I had a top of the range Clipper a couple of years ago which was a very good bat - although the stickers were rank!!
Changed the stickers and it looked so much nocer - but performance was always good!
Still have an older Insignia LE!
-
I have a Hunts Mettle here, purchased off Jimba101 on this forum, and I have just finished refurbishing it. A lovely bat, feels nice in the hands, and seems to perform well, even if it is 4 years old!

i've had a an edge too!
My total is 2 Glory's, Modulas, Mettle, Edge, Tsunami, Clipper Custom and have used my step fathers reflex aswell!
-
What model mate?
-
My edge was a custom i got made there. Got a hairline crack at the toe after about 6 months so Tony gave me a brand new glory :)
-
Ah ok. The Edge I used was my mates and sadly snapped after about a season but it was lovely!
-
The insignia on my bat porn posting (stickerless) is a 2lb 11oz lh. For a grade 2 it's a great piece of Willow. Has a great, massive shape. Very good bats! http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=8157.msg123077#msg123077 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=8157.msg123077#msg123077)

Have bought myself a Hunts County Triumph form Martin Berrill sports. I have to say, he's a top bloke to deal with & even sent me pics of bats he has in stock.
Can't wait for it to arrive!!
-
My mate broke 3 in a season and they were all custom made.... he must have been pretty unlucky cos most people rave about them
One of my other friends got a blank bat there and the ball flies off it... i suppose its pure luck!
-
Hunts County custom bats are very very good indeed i had a custom made one there and used it till it fell to bits on me
In my mind much underrated indeed and very very good prices and lovely people
A great place to go as well
-
How much is it for a custom made bat from HC?
-
When i go down i just tell tony how much i'm looking to spend and he makes a bat accordingly
-
Ah ok, cheers mate
-
I had a county reflex about 8 years ago, was a quality little bat. Went like the clappers. It got broken into 4 bits though during a rather intense afternoon session in the "Backyard Ashes 2002" series

Posted my comment on the wrong thread!
From memory the top price on the 2011 list was £200
-
Have only heard good things about their bats, but the stickers are awfull especially the old ones with the stag on them!! But the new stickers look nice.!!!!!
