Title: My Ayrtek!
Post by: johan95 on January 19, 2011, 03:20:52 PM
Hi all,,
As promised, here is a review of my Ayrtek ACIS elite Ti, which I finally got to use last night, agonisingly I got it on the Tuesday last week, just after Winter Nets >:(, though that is UKMail's fault, not Tom's :)

As soon as I received it, I was very impressed with the quality of the finish, and I think it looks excellent! I got it in my club colour, Maroon, with the silver pinstripes and initials as well! Just before the VAT increase as well, so i managed to save myself a fair amount :)

Delivery was really quick, about a week turnaround, with christmas backlog too! It felt really comfortable and very light. Fits like a glove with the pumping system as well, which is an added bonus.
Altogether, I think that it was a bargain at the price I obtained it, and I am so pleased I got it at the time I did, definitely gonna keep me safe in the season! My mate got annoyed with me and decided to bowl bouncers, but I practised the uppercut/guide over slips, so it didn't get tested, thankfully...

Of course, there were the quips. I got the cycling helmet one the most, though nothing mentioned about Stormtroopers or Spacemen. It was dubbed the Sangakkara Helmet, and I was told I looked exactly like CSK! I am Sri Lankan, but was born here, but that was a nice compliment. I just said it was the safest on the market and they all shut up though...

Overall, a great product, no surprise that more pros are getting keen on it, keener by the day Tom ;)
Tom's service was top-notch, so I'd like to give a big thanks to him for that!!!

Cheers!
Pics to come soon!

Even though I don't wear a lid often, I'm being strangely drawn towards buying an Ayrtek! They just look cool! I think I'd have flames on the side of mine 8)

How much did you pay/save Johan by beating the VAT increase?

They looks pretty cool, I have to say. Though some people take the piss, I don't think that they look that bad... :) The pinstripes on mine look great IMO!

A fair bit...I took up the forum offer of a free ti before it expired, and so saved myself about £30 on that, plus the about £15 increase on the helmet itself...whole thing for £112 delivered, which was very kind of Tom! Though now prices have gone up and ti grille offer has expired, I can count myself damn lucky... :)
