Which do you think would be the better boot...
Asics Gel Gully 2

Adidas 22yd

Never bought Asics before, and have some Adidas now but wondering if the Asics could be a batter shout?

I have the Asics Strike Rate boots from last season and they are extremely comfortable. Wore them for 5 matches in 10 days without blistering.
-
I have the gel gully 2 shoes and like them, I think they are pretty good - they are only £45 at Sports Direct

I have last year's Adidas' and they're very nice!
-
I wore asics strike rates last season and they are the mist comfortable I have ever had! Defianetly go asics over adidas
-
There are so many to choose from with Asics but think the Gully 2 are the most suited for me
I'm keeping as well so would like full spiked really. Thanks gents
-
I wear the Asics with full spikes - I don't keep though, you just have to add in the spikes at the back when you get them
-
As much as I detest lining the pockets of Mike Ashley, £45 does seem the best I can find for them
-
I went for these nest season: http://www.prodirectcricket.com/Products/ASICS-Gel-Advance-2-White-Navy-Red-Asics-Mens-Cricket-Shoes-Pro-Direct-Cricket-9979.aspx
thought they were good value for money. Anyone had a pair?
-
Ive never used Adidas spikes and have always used Asics as far as I remember so im gonna give a biased opinion . . . . drumroll . . . . . Asics!
-
I have used Puma, Adidas, Nike and Asics.
Asics used - the ones in the Aussie color
Nikes used the top of the range model
(sorry cannot recollec the names)
I would recommend Asics followed by Nike. The Asics are more snugg fit, lighter and flexible. The Nike's are slightly heavier (due to the material they use) and nor as flexible as Asics. The fitting on the top ens Nike's is very good.
IMO, comfort-wise Asics are better though Nike are not far away.
If you play on slightly damp wickets or in an area where you have a lot of due in the outfiled Nike are better as they have leather upper.
I end up using the Asics for batting and Nike for bowling
-
Asics everytime, i tried the advance 3's on today and must say they were very light and comfy, they are my choice of footwear for next season

I have the asics gel advance 2 nice & light just the job for batting/fielding

Can't seem to see a difference between them and the Gully 2's but £40 sounds about right from prodirect. I think either will suit me fine, prefer to keep in full spikes as well, can always take the back lot off for batting should I need to
-
i like these ones: http://www.prodirectcricket.com/Products/ASICS-Gel-Strike-Rate-White-Navy-Red-Asics-Mens-Cricket-Shoes-9982.aspx
chose the Gel advance 2's as they look lighter. Still think i'm gonna field/bowl in my old pumas tho

Interesting reasoning. The whole point of these is that they feel like you are wearing trainers! They're that light.
-
To be honest, I don't think I need 2 pairs. The Gel Gully's will do nicely I think
-
I dont really like bowling in spikes. I suppose i could just put the rubbers in
I'll explain better: last season i just wore my puma which were just rubber soled. But i kept slipping when batting so i bought a pair of spikes to aid running between the wickets really lol
-
When I used to bowl was always full spike.
Bat in rubbers if possible or halfs if damp

You must bowl spin then... I slip too much if I don't wear spikes.

Nope seam... lol

Nope seam... lol
Then you, sir, are nuts!
-
Yeah mental, I could not bowl with no spikes on... no way!
-
The only problems i've had are turning when running between the wickets. I doubt i'll bowl much next season anyway ;)

Full bowling boots for that needed support if bowling seam up of any note for me

Definitely true in 45 over matches for me, but for T20, found that the lows are fine.
