Title: If I ran world cricket...
Post by: Howzat on November 23, 2008, 12:11:49 PM
What would you do?
1) Play less ODI's and more 20/20
2) Sack the entire ICC
3) Limit the number of Kolpak players allowed
4) Only 1 overseas player allowed
5) Each county team must consist of at least 3 players born/grown up in that county.

1) Make Test cricket more appealing for players
2) No kolpak players
3) 1 overseas player per side

Limit sides to a certain number of 20/20's and ODI's to be played in a season
Minimum of a 3 test series, and no more than a 5 match ODI series
Inject more funding into 4 day cricket it is the closest mentally/physically that you are going to get to test cricket
Scrap the ICL bans
Less emphasis on 20/20 cricket
A 2/3 week break in the international calendar for ALL players during the IPL, clauses in every players international contracts stating that if they are injured in the IPL they will recieve no payment from their respective cricket board based on the period of time they are unavailable for international selection.

However, the loophole in European employment legislation that allows foreign players to bypass the county overseas quota is apparently to be closed, meaning a possible 60% reduction in non-England qualified players in 2010.

Tell india that if habajan or Shreesath are in trouble for anything again they will get a 3 test ban doubleing for each infringement.  And tell the BCCI if they dont like it well touch cookies. India run world cricket at the moment and have a stranglehold over the ICC.
