Hi guys,
I got this old beauty of E Bay for ten pounds, it has no cracks at all just a few spike marks where it has been in the previous owners bag. It weighs 2.7 ounces without a grip and has a nice Classic English shape and picks up lovely. I was wondering if any of the older members on here might be able to Identify it for me as the model sticker is missing. It has eight clear straight grains and sounds superb on the mallet, i am going to give it a good refurb and try and put the round Newbery stickers back on it to keep in with its heritage if they come of Ok. It just goes to show you can still find a bargain one ebay if you keep an eye open.

This is what I get for forgetting when an action ends. Brilliant scoop mate, an original John Newbery bat. Bargain of the year.

Key - It Newbery's previous model and they don't have this model anymore.
Mr. Hosk, also have this stick (scroll down a bit);

Thanks for that Mr Cover Drive, and if they dont have the correct stickers not to worry as i hope to get the Round stickers of and i have removed the electrical type tape they put on it and the willow looks lovely not a blemish butterfly stain on it anywhere. But you never know untill you use it in fury at the wicket which i intend to do unless the Mrs finds out and makes me sell it lol!!

Not just previous model, but legally a previous company. These markings are from the original company formed by John Newbery in the early 1980s and that went bust in 1986. The current company is a new company dating from the late 80s / early 90s
