No, i actually dont rate him at all. He needs a specially made helmet for his over sized head as his ego is so so so huge

Am i missing something?

He is by far our most talented batsman i can't think of anyone on the county scene who could come in and replace him.

He might be having a rough time but as the old saying goes 'form is temporary class is permanent' and KP has got class!

I agree. The English media are destroying there own National team by criticising them when they have ONE bad game.

i agree with danny, he is by far englands best batsmen and those who say he is over rated obviously don't have a clue!

He needs to get back to basics and just bat. He's trying to work on problems he hasn't got and it's just causing him more trouble.

That's how he's  got to play to be effective. Any other way just doesn't work for him.

Proved a couple of people wrong on here, how can you doubt a player with so much natural talent?

He plays his way. He could have been out a couple of times but him and Ambrose as well as Broad played really well. It's going to be even more of a test against the South Afrikans but hopefully he can shut them up by scoring hundred's like he did in his first international series.

Good,Patient but great to watch hundred that pulled England out of a sticky situation and layed the foundations for the great bowling performance. His ego may be big but he can back it with great batting performances. His game will only get better against the South Africans as he always seems to take it up a notch against them!

To be honest I think Kevin Pietersen is the single most over-rated cricketer of all time. Have always said so, he is selfish, arrogant and he's a terrible captain too!

How is he a terrible captain?? He is not over-rated, his average tells you that story, he's been england's best player since his debut... Secondly I don't get where all this accusation of arrogance comes from. Just because he gives frank interviews and is confident, you think that is arrogant? He is a great example of how to approach the game, his mentality is second to none

Your such a tool, averages over 50 in tests how can that be overrated, its not like people are comparing him to bradman - so he holds up there against other great players of this era such as tendulkar, lara, ponting etc. Of course he is self obsessed but that belief in his ability is a huge factor in him being the finest england of many years.

The "FIGJAM" thing was thought up by the Aussies for the last Ashes series down under. I believe that Kevin Pietersen isn't arrogant because Michael Vaughan and others have said so before. Vaughan said that he was quite insecure if I remember correctly. People view his confidence/self-belief and honesty as arrogance. He reportedly trains harder than anyone else on the England team and thinks a great deal about his cricket. Therefore in my books he is good captaincy material; he was unlucky with the events which led to his forced resignation as England captain.

Kevin Pietersen is a very good player, one of the best batsman in the world in both Tests and ODIs. He has a very high average in both formats over several years. However he is not a "great" yet. I agree that some people talk him up to much but to say he is "the most over-rated cricketer of all time" is just silly.

I reckon if he was as humble as players like Brian Lara or Sachin tendulkar hen he could be as good as them. He has lots of raw talent which he doesnt use.

Hope he learns! Was my fave player!

Well you can brag when you get 400 in a test, although it was against england.
