I have a bat that is perfect for me edge size, weight, shape, profile. But my brother feels the same and he has claimed the bat, i was wondering is there any companies that could do there best to 'copy' the bat, i would prefer it to be a Midlands company, but if i could always send my bat off, any thoughts...?
-
Jimba101 had his GN Nitro copied by Matt at H4L, I think it's a beaut. He's always worth a shout :)
-
Any could really do it but if your looking midlands
rob pack
Hawk
Hunts
Would all do a good job I would've thought
-
i was thinking Rob, but he is 2 hours away, im in Stoke
-
Still closer than posting it miles but I'm sure someone may be able to think of one closer
-
Had tony at hunts copy a bat a couple of years ago when I went down there. Did a very good job.
Also got matt at h4l do my custom in GN nitro profile, also very good!

-

Good shout Steny12. Worth the cost of a phone call to ask. They are only a short drive away from Stoke, near Junction 16 M6, top end of the D-road (A500), on the way into Crewe.

Charlie French in Mansfield.

Yes James is very good, tho he has gone a bit quiet on the national front due to his training aids getting pretty big he still likes people coming to shop and gets alot of business from the local leagues. Are you local Number5?

-

-
i play for Wedgwood Stanfields CC :D in the NSSC league.
-
NSSC decent league :)
-
best league in the country i think, our league representitive XI won the championship
-
really, we lost last year to the north Yorks south Durham league :(.
-
Have to say that those representative games are not a true reflection on the league, firstly not all the players play in it in that most players have jobs ect and cup commitments ect and also does XI good cricketers make the best league?
-
Play against Northwich? My other half is from round there!
-
good point Greg, I know from our point of view we were missing a lot of players for those types of reasons and also alot of the payed players wont play as they wouldnt get anything for it. as i said I think the NSSC league is a decent tho, but was a bit suprised to hear they won the comp but as u said many factors can contribute to that,.

I learnt to play cricket at Birkenhead Park Nets, I spent many a sunday afternoon and thursday evening there. Always remember how dark it was when you left late at night as there was no street lights in the park. Used to be really enjoyable in the nets if you managed to be on after another group as the added warmth seemed to make the ball swing like anything!
Played for Bromborough CC then Octel CC then back to Bromborough before moving permantly down to Worcestershire.
Great place to play cricket up on Merseyside and Cheshire

I think Bromborough still train at our place. clubs in trouble at the moment though as although the tents look nice I dont think they thought about costs in the future. Weve had to call a coulpe of nets off this year due to a rip in the roof and condensation build up when temp changed dramatically, quotes to have it reroofed are rediculous. Is that the Octel in the Port or is that someone different?
-
I grew up playing cricket in Merseyside too, in the Liverpool Comp for Southport & Birkdale. Now playing in the Saracens Hertfordshire League at a much lower standard, as 7 years out of the game did for me, combined with a love of food and booze making me fat.

It was the Octel factory team but they played at the Octel Club in Bromborough/Eastham. They were the fun days work a Fri night till 1/2am, get up the next morning and go and play cricket for the day, finish match and go and work the Sat night till 1/2am. Get up and go and play on a sunday, finsih match and work till 12! I used to go whole weekends eating cricket teas followed by a midnight tea consisting of the left over buffet from that nights function or wedding, and I wonder why my body is that of a god - Budha!
Bromborough were struggling when I played for them, they just did not want to conceed that some of them were to old to be playing and they would not let youth have their chance. So most of the young lads left, thats the reason I left the first time. Think they will still be struggling because of that!
