Title: My Rather Snazzy H4L 5* 666 Monster

Just got back form a works meal and slightly the worse for wear, but have been determined to put these pics up and write a small review.

After reading various reviews, I gave Matt a call a couple of weeks ago to discuss what he had in. After thinking about the Hattori, we went through a couple of options and came up with the decision to make me "something that will go like a train"

Gave a basic spec of the following:

2.9-10ish
Oval Handle
Not fussed about grains/imperfections
Knocked In
Toe Guard
Scuff Sheet

Matt has been a pleasure to deal with, top fella and knows how to make a cricket bat. Am over the moon with it, have given it a bit of a knock and it's a belter. Looking forward to getting in the nets with it on Sunday and throwing it about. Final weight comes in about 2.10lb fully 'dressed' and picks up very well. I could write more, but would not do the bat any justice.

Anyone looking for a bat, please give Matt a call. Talked me through the process, sending photos along the way and easy to deal with.

I am getting a Hattorri at the end of the month, as will have a lower middle which will be handy for the early season/showing off/looking cool

It's a lovely looking bit of gear I must admit. Got a bat cover as well

3 will do me for now mate, and nothing like a spot of brand loyalty eh! Plus, the Hatters (as I have decided to call it from now on) is something a bit different from the Monster and if this is anything to go by, then will be a winner

Christ knows, Haven't used it yet, but it looks pretty and after more time than usual knocking in (pressed slightly softer than most brands I think) it rebounds better than most other bats which are heavier (due to the spiral grip the bat itself was finished at 2'5). So it is a cracker. Not the prettiest piece of willow, but for the price, who cares? Seriously toying with the idea of getting a LE, which may well be even better.

I'm going out on a limb but I reckon a £175 H4L will outperform most other larger brands which tend to start at £200 plus.

That reminds me, I've not bought a bat for a while (except something special from eBay). Ze money is burning a hole...

Evening Jon, I have already spoken to Matt about getting one, will probably go for the LE willow this time as well.

Can honestly say it's the best bat I have ever used, it was flying. Gentle pushes were screaming off the blade, the whole thing is middle. Think I have even put some business Matt's way as teamates were queuing up for a go with it.

Can't wait to get the Hattori at the end of the month. And if this is only his 5* willow, god knows what his LE is like.

Amazing bat, can't praise it highly enough
