Title: Aero Inners
Post by: peplow on February 07, 2011, 10:31:18 AM
Wondered if phillip@aero could tell us anymore about these beauties! At £25 they must be special but just why are they setting themselves apart form other inners??

cheers

tbh i think they look like decent inners the added padding on the glove its self looks very unique. I would think reduces the impact of the ball a grate deal

I am going to buy a set of p2 and p1 inners just to test them out.

Does anyone know does any other stickist sell them in the uk as serious cricket are the only ones I can find and they only do size small

Simmy what inners do you tend to use? Pure cotton or are you a chamois sort of bloke?

I find that chamois take the feeling away and the palms on my gloves are hard enough (need softening really)

ive used both in the past mate...

i think ive got cotton at the moment. not 100% keen on them cos its hard if i wanna flick a glove off and have a go at the stumps cos there quite thick.

these are them and i nicked them out of fletchuk's bag lol
(http://www.prodirectcricket.com/productimages/Thumbs/4154.jpg)

no matter what type i use i soak them both in water 1st anyway

Mine are loosening up, the palms are a little thicker but they will soften up the more I use them. Was keeping to a bowling machine last night on 70 standing up and that seems to be working.

only issue i had with all chamios 1's where when playing for league team keeping againts one of are league openers he bowls like high 70's. my hands where stinging really bad and had ended up with like solid calcium deposit at top of my parms. since  changing to these inners no problems at all.
i also changed my keeping gloves as well tho

Yeah my hands took a battering last night, seen the slazenger inners so think I will give those a go, they are full cotton though. suppose your hands get used to the pain as the season goes on

Well i saw nurse helen, who is known for being the worst nurse in town and all she could say is hmmmm its not right (which i knew) and referred me to hospital. Had mri there and have a what is either acute tear of the muscle or chronic tear on tendinitus (spelling?) the results are due any day now with which, it was an odd one as cant remmeber having a bash which rules out acute, too young to possibly have chronic so maybe tendinitus one (i may have made that word up or its something esle but it is something like that!) but all is not right once i get above sort 60` degress upwards...

my mum side has a history of shoulder (and a few elbow) problems!

Can you not do anything above 60 degrees plus? Would be strange if it was tendinitis and that was the case as well, tendinitis makes it hurt a bit but doesn't really prohibit you from doing anything, it's more of a 'next day killer' sort of thing. Although saying that, I've only had patellar tendinitis, so I wouldn't know about shoulder area! It could be an acute tear, you wouldn't needed to have hit anything I don't think, but I'm no doctor so don't quote me!

i can do things, its not impossible but 1. the pain really isnt worht it  and 2. its not gonig to get any better if i do it!

Inners wont stop ya breaking a finger mate lol watch the ball nicely into the palms....;0) serious note I tend to like unpadded chamouis inners, padding lessens the feel and the ball can bounce. Saying that I will proberbly give em a go, slave to kit that i am!!!!

Mate it sounds like a rotator cuff injury, best case scenario is 6-8 weeks physio or worst surgery and a season out!

Post by: Ayrtek Cricket on February 13, 2011, 03:15:47 PM
i did one of them and couldnt throw a ball but my bowling action was still fine just hurt when reaching up ur back with ur arm behind u....surgery was the end result tho as it got progressively worse and ended up with a total rupture of my bicep...so just a cep lol
Title: Re: Aero Inners
Post by: peplow on February 13, 2011, 05:29:06 PM
yeah they did say rotator cuff, but there are several types i think. At first they thought it may be ac separation but its definately not!

Hopefully it wont be too bad, but still looks like a season or so without throwing! plus my club is in need of a keeper, i think i may take a season out and practice hard on batting and keeping then go from there if its bad.

Guys.  Sorry I missed this topic.  If you have a look in the 2011 Catalogue thread you'll find more information on the new KPR inners.

I saw these inners both the £15 version and £30 version, at the Lords retail show. Tried them both on felt comfy enough but as Im not a keeper no idea if they are any good or not! Aero Rep didn't know a great deal about them, seemed to know about everything else though was a nice guy.

Those guys thinking of / being encouraged to keep this year, DO IT! Keeping gives you a new perspective on the game you are involved every ball, it is hard physically on the knees and hands but I would never give it up, it's nice to field every now and then but the gloves are the best thing in cricket non keepers will never understand!

I kept for a season, did enjoy it but it is very physically hard especially on the quads I found!

What is the benefit of this? First time I've come across it :S

Sounds like it might make sense as sometimes chamois can become stiff, so you run them under a tap or full on dunk them?
DO you then let them dry off or to keep with wet gloves?

Search wet inners in the keeping section and all that's answered for you

Kohli and various guys in the Indian team have been using the Aero Fielding Practice Glove http://www.aerocricket.com/equipment/accessories/fielding-practice-gloves.html (http://www.aerocricket.com/equipment/accessories/fielding-practice-gloves.html)  for quite a while.  When the last Cricket World Cup was on (2015 in Australia and New Zealand) many of the teams purchased them from retail outlets - from memory Sri Lanka, India, the West Indies and (possibly) Pakistan.  There are quite a few pics floating around of them using them in their warmups ever since.
