they might of done a bat under the pro-century name, not now though, but this is the jumbo shape version that hasn't been around for a few years. I contacted Dukes a few weeks ago to see if I could get a copy made, but they couldn't.

Brought one back in 2002, scored the thick end of 800 runs @ 70 odd, loads of sixes and then it broke :-( . The replacement I managed to over oil but still went ok. I then brought a custom ton and despite being far to heavy for me, it went like a gun. All in all not had a bad Dukes yet.

One thing I will do is replace the round handle with an oval one or at least get someone re-shape the handle. My first pro-century was oval handled and I couldn't get on with the round handle version.

Looks fairly hefty - won't weight do your wonky scales say this is?

it has an oval handle, which is good news. However my heart sank when I found out it was vylon. That was the bottom quality wood but it was worth a punt and may play pretty well. The Vylon covering is pretty tough but I'm wondering if I should remove it and sand /oil the bat. I'm thinking it hasn't had an oiling in years and it might be worth getting it refurbed. I also suspect it needs knocking in as the old nail in the wood went in to easily. Weigh's 2'11 with an extra grip on.

if you get the vylon off, it may only weigh 2'5 ... :)

It has 6 pretty straight grains, with the odd blemish - i'd rate it as a G2 on looks. It has no concaving at all, so ought to pack a punch.

Going to use it as a net bat mainly and see how it goes.

Vylon on or off?

Hadn't realised they were pretty much the same shape as the SS Jumbo.

On unless it really doesn't go and you fancy a sticky refurb job

The shape of this looks like SS Jumbo.

My club mate has Dukes bats and they go very well I must say! Good pick I would say mate!

Knocked in with a little net use, few cherries and seam marks. Might consider selling it if anyone is interested, too heavy for me, 2'11ish at a guess and I have the photos to make a copy in future, so it ought to get some use elsewhere.

Dukes and morrants bats are decent sticks to what they used to be, over half our club use them. Morrants 'brand' do a t20 destroyer bat, they go like the clappers
