I'm thinking of buying these as a replacement for my green pads. Has anyone tried them? What are they like in terms of comfort/protection? I'm assuming they will be suitable for bowling speeds around 75-80mph

I have some SS Pads, I think they are a high-end model. They are very Comfy and offer top protection. I highly recommend them, so much so I am saving them for matches in the Summer, have some great Champ Pads I got off Bruce with the Same design which I am using for nets :)
-
Hey Johan, high do you reckon these Champ pads are compared to SS?
-
I think that the SS Pads would edge it, they are made from slightly better materials, but the Champs are very good quality, worth a go. Mine were samples I think, but they looked very SS or Newb GT-esque :)
Hope that answers the question, if not drop me a PM and we can discuss.

Thanks for the info. I was looking for colored pads and was offered some Champ ones.
-
If they are the same design as mine I think they are very good quality. I can get some pics of mine uploaded for you, I don't have much to do today, give me 10 minutes. :)

Thanks Johan.

Hope that helps you out mate, there isn't a lot of difference, the SS Pads edge it, but not by much! :)

They were good those Champ ones - you did well there Jo-Dog!
-
I know, really chuffed with them. They are hard to do up tightly I found, the only downside to them, and it's a small one. Just had to strap them on seriously quickly, but I am done in about 2 mins usually, including strippers, inners and an Ayrtek which I pump up as well :) - were they one-off's or will they be the generic design, as I think they would sell very well (plus they were a steal at £20 posted!) ;)
-
are they the ones i nearly bought Garribaldo
-
Yup - but you'e got a nice pair on their way.
-

funnily enough, I've got a slighty used pair from SF (I think). Unbranded.
