(No Swearing Please)
They look top mate!!!!!
-
Look good, good job i'm not a keeper bats cost enough with this forum.
-
F00k me! They look tops mate! Glad you like them I guess..Let us know what they are like when you use them in nets! Might have to invest in a pair of these if I get keeping more during the season, or perhaps in the 2012 season! :)
Were yours really good Will? Are you getting a 2nd pair or did you get those SS Keeping gloves?
-
i will let u know how i use them in april... never keep in nets.
they feel awsome tho will be getting anotehr pair i think to keep after these have had it just incase geoff isnt here no more
-
I am nabbing the SS ones off Sam mate, no point forking out more cash for customs. Mine are good, catching area smaller than I have been used to in the past, and a little stiff but going to stick them under a mattress and give them a good hammering with a ball mallet and they should soften up nicely
Simmy - There is still life in the old dog yet!! You can't write him off like that! ;)
-
How old is this guy? I fancy a pair now :/
-
He is rocking in his 60-70's, think Simmy was being a tad harsh haha
"best get another pair before he snuffs it"
You do make me laugh mate
-
I don't even keep but I want some
-
Ahh okay, I'm selling my xbox this weekend and i'm either going to spend the cash on a bat or some new keeping gloves, i havent had my current set long though
-
Could do a spot of gardening in the summer maybe mate?
RP - What do you have at the moment?
-
I've got last years ss LE ones, the blue camo version, i do like them, but these look stunning :(
-
They are worth the money mate, just send outlines with inners on as they are very snug
-
I don't even keep but I want some
This sums up my view. Damn they look good! I love the style of them!
-
hes well into his 70's i think.
boys got skills to pay the bills!
-
guys, i have a compeltely black set made by geoff that i got off stubbzy, they seem just a normal size, no freakish dimensions, bit of wear on them but i was thinking about getting them repalmed, if anyone fancied them now or after repalming drop me a line!
may not be as flash as the white ones, but are damn sexy in all black ;)
-
Saw some better pics last night and the pics here do not do the gloves justice. The gold stitch looks absolute class!! Nice gloves boyo - 40victim gloves? Atleast you'll 'look' as good as you are now 8)
-
Gloves look brill mate :) . Let us know your thoughts when you use them bud !
-
simmy, is it just your name in gold? or stitching too, get these "bad boy" pics up when your flash is sorted ;)
-

just need to lose about 5 stone now!!! lol
n yeah peps its just my name in gold not gold stiching but i guess if u ask for gold stitching me might be able to do it lol.
im so happy with these gloves i wanna use them NOW
sam get my inners sent out i wanna try them on with htem
-
Sorry that's what I meant gold detail with the name. I doubt you'll ever stump me pal. Lovely gloves though, need to see them in the flesh when your H4L arrives :)
-
yeah boiiiiiiiiiii will see you sat anyway wont I?
had no reply from mat so not sure when its coming
-
So after going all Ayrtek and Blueroom like you Pidge, he's gone all Wymer and H4L like me....
I smell a sheep, not a wolf ;)
-
im still all aryteked n
blueroomed up lol
;)
-
How did his measure your hands mate as when I did mine I just sent off the outline of my hands. And a year on they are still snug and need thinner inners
-
I drew around my hand too. But am waiting for mine to arrive, so can't comment on the fit yet.
-
v. excited about mine coming :D
-
The fit is perfect but catching area is small and if worn with padded inners can be a hindrance as there is to much padding... if you get me aha
-
anyone else think they take ages to go supple?
-
YEs mate - pain in the (No Swearing Please).
Was whacking mine with a mallet last night
-
i've had mine under my matress, folded under boxes for a week and they are vastly better, still not "supple" but usable and they feel great on! people have said catching area is smaller, but if mens gloves are too big for you, like they are for me then these are ideal!
However if standard gloves fit like a dream they may be a better buy!
-
Strick them in a warm bath and wear them for about 2 hours that my trick
-
Dave - are you telling me to stick my custom leather gloves in a bath of warm water...
-
Glad I'm not the only one... I know - that's what I'm thinking. Don't want to destroy my new palms! Love the smell of the leather though.
-
Will put pics of mine up over the weekend. Haven't really tried them on for long so will comment on them later.
-
Dave - are you telling me to stick my custom leather gloves in a bath of warm water...
yes and mould them to your hand i sure Scrumpy Jack did it and a few others.
It will not destroy your plams either
-
OK mate, will give it a go this weekend. So soak them and keep them on my hands for 2 hours?
-
im imagining that your gonna end up with leather dye coming out of them ???
-
yes mate and keep flexing them and let them dry naturally in a cold place not near heat or anything in a garage or something
I did not but mine were all white tom
-
I have found now it does depend what inner your using with them
-
My new handwarmers!!!

nice indeed
-
:D Beautiful. Pete - you are a man of fine taste ;) - I'm loving the fact I'm keeping tomorrow, my hands will be warm :D :D
-
Those artistic photos were ruined by the ball!
-
you could have chosen a shiny new one pete!! ;)
-
Thanks chap - had a hard time deciding on a design!! Was limited in which colours available.
They fit well and I suspect they will be the same stiffness as others Wymer gloves!
And I know! It's the only one I could find at the time! :(
-
Pete they look genuinely badass! I might take up keeping just so I can get some!
-
Look nice Pete. I love mine fit perfect I thought they where soft enough. Dunno wat every body is moaning about. U happy with them pete
-
Hi Simmy, Pete,
Any feedback on these gloves as do look rather nice and tempting after taking up keeping halfway through the season.
-
I'd also be interested to hear some feedback from anyone who has a pair of these.
Did you use them much in the end Simmy as I know you had a pair of the Ayrteks as well?

The ayrtek gloves were used last season and the customs the season before.
-
That explains that then, thanks.
Would still be interested to hear how they were
-
Think he liked them, just the stitching went in between the fingers. Don't think he got on with the palm ether. Didn't offer any protection between the thumb and forefinger.

Cheers for your help with that mate, much appreciated as it may save me from forking out the £70 odd for them. Was already a little concerned about sizing coming up too small
-
Sizing should be perfect, he takes a template of your hand. So I wouldn't worry about that.
Simmy hasn't had another pair so think that says it all. If he loved them he'd of bought another pair.
-
Yea think that's true about him not going back.
My concern on sizing was that I don't have the biggest hands and that the catching area may end up being reduced on a custom glove
-
Hummmmmm I'm not sure, I'll give the big dog a text and let him give you a proper review.
-
Probably just my complex about my girlie mitts making me think that really, thanks again though :)
-
I've got a pair of Adidas pro gloves in small men's for when I stand in keeping. Just perfect for my girls hands haha
-
thanks for the input thought it would be good to hear how they were

I refuse to go small men's in anything on principle!
-
went for large mens in my shamrock gloves

Do it, better to be snug than like a welly top. There's a motto for life haha
-
I will reply when I get in answer all questions
-
right people i am home now so here is my 2p....
i got the gloves in the 2010 season .
they where lovely looked good decent fit etc everything i wanted..
now you have to ask your self how much cricket do you play?
i pretty much play every sat and sunday and two t20 games a week
so thats roughly 60 games a season...
The stiching started to split inbetween the fingers near the end of the season.. not sure why really maybe i just have big hands etc
when i drew round the glove i did not have inners on geoff said he would make them a few mm bigger for the inners as well..
in the 2011 season when i looked at the gloves that had been sat in the garage all winter the leather had gone very brital and hard the gloves where not longer soft and lost there flexibility... i am sure with a bit of soap water/leather conditioner they might have softerned up.
but anyway i had helped tom-tek with the design of the ayrtek keeping gloves.. so as a favour he sent me a pair up to use so i never used the wymers again..
its the ayrtek gloves that i had the issue with not enough padding in-between thumb and first finger.. its cos in the gap there is no padding there and i have a bad hand..
this yeah i am using kook silver 1's have used them in indoor nets they are nice but dont feel as nice as the ayrteks i dont think..
i say if ur gonna get a pair of wymers get them! but dont expect them to last forever i had more than my use out of them i think
-
Cheers for the update Simmy
-
Yea thanks for all the details Simmy, much appreciated. If next season is as wet as this one reckon a pair could last me about 5 years!
-
Anyone else with feedback on Wymer gloves?
-
I bought my wymers towards the end of this season and am very impressed with them aesthetically. They are made of good quality leather and need breaking in. Stitching appears sound and first impressions are £67 well spent.
I suppose like most 'seasoned' keepers we like them to be supple and comfortable so I set about mine with saddle soap and leather oil and a few hours punching the palms. They are getting softer and will, if supple enough be my gloves for next year. They will never be as soft as a pair of Alec Stewart Slazengers I picked up but we can't have everything.
Like Simmy I used Kooks Silver Classics for the first part of the season.(Well if you can call it a season with the rain we had).
The Kooks are really soft but I found that the palms were a bit thin, I like to feel the ball, but theres feeling the ball and feeling the ball.
Pictures of my gloves are on the forum in the keeping section under 'Look what arrived in the post today' and 'A lovely pair of Slazengers'
I will put more on about the Wymers next season but at the moment I wear them round the house to soften them up.
