Looking for your views on this, I'm going to be ordering some GM softs soon enough.
Just not sure what ones to get! Can you please vote on what combination you think is best. If you have used them then comment about what their like!
Combo 1) 909 D30 Pads and 909 D30 Gloves £103
Combo 2) 808 pads and LE Gloves £106
Combo 3) 909 pads and 808 gloves £86
Combo 4) 909 D30 pads and 808 gloves £94
Please vote on what you think the best value for money is.
Thanks
Liam

combo 3 and 5 are the same...
-
Yep thanks, just changed that and added the prices in.
-
If you could oat you reason for voting for what you did that would be helpful!
-
I prefer Combo, it looks best
-
Which number colesey!?
-
2, I swear I typed it :L My mistake
-
For me Combo 1, I don't know but I prefer to buy same pads and gloves.
My mate has D30 Original pads and they are amazing!! I would say better than my Original LE.
-
I'd go for 1 or 2, probably 2 though as i'd want the better gloves, i think theyre more important

Does your mate have this years or last years pads?
-
better gloves
-
i voted 3 because i dont like the pads with the wide bar in the middle i dont think they wrap round your legs properly i would change the gloves for the l.e ones so id go for the 909 pads with the l.e gloves
-
That would be £120!
The d30 909 gloves can't a lot lower in protection than the LE?
-
have you tried any of the gear on?
-
I agree with Canners here, the 909 pads and the LE gloves would be the nicest combo imo.
-
cheers bud
id suggest trying on any softs you can before buying, unless your getting a great deal of course
-
My mate has the 808 pads, so I will try them on for size.
My dad has the original lite gloves from a few season back which are the same design as the d30 and feel good.
-
combo 2 prefer the gloves. used to like the inverted top hat
-
k cool its just my mate ordered all top end gm stuff last season online wore the pads once and hasnt worn them since cos he couldnt get on with them, he said they didnt wrap round his legs very well..... hence why i recommended trying before you buy
-
I've got £140 at my disposal so want to treat myself, can regroup some money by selling my kook softs.
I had a pair of last years GM LE pads but they felt a little big so sold them on.
I might just drive up to Taunton tomorrow.
-
Sorry I am a bit late on this guys, but I too would be inclined to say get the best possible gloves and decent pads. Maybe 707/808 Pads and Original L.E. Gloves, thoughif you are treating youself like you say I guess then go for TOTR best that you can get (ie. 909 D30 Pads - are they better than Original L.E. and Cheaper...? and Original L.E. Gloves...!)
Hope that helps mate, look forward to hearing what you go for in the end!
-
i also think it depends how long you ar elikely to keep them, if its new pads and gloves every year then go cheaper, if you wear them til they are knackered then go totr!
-
Right, drove up to taunton today.
Tried on 909 d30 and 909 pads. Both horrible! The mean where a little big on me and they didn't wrap around well.
Tried on LE and 909 d30 gloves as well but didn't like them!
Tried on a load of other gear and came away with some 2011 puma iridium 5000 gloves

Don't really like the look of the d3o pads this season, the designs look like they were let loose with a set square after several sherbet sticks.
