Title: SS Jumbo's still in high demand.....apparently
Post by: awp on February 26, 2011, 06:50:10 AM
thought you guys might get a kick out of this..........but then again most of you seem too young to know what an SS Jumbo was!

best bat I had was in 1989 - SS Jumbo Executive, I remember it cost $330 when $250 bought you absolutely anything else in the shop.  Might pop around to my folks and see if its still in my old room if they're fetching this much on the bay!

Can't believe they go for that price! I had a Harrow sized one. Absolutely loved it. Don't think I could ebay it though as I seem to remember that, once I'd outgrown it and moved onto the Symonds Tusker, my brother took a stanley knife to the sticker on the back and turned my Jumbo into an "SS oumbJ"!

Just brought and using the dukes pro-century, pretty much the modern version of a jumbo. Profile always brings a smile to my face, screams "I've got a big lump of wood on the back of my bat and it's coming to get you" :-)
