With only one more arrival expected in the immediate future (which shall be added when it arrives), these are the chosen ones to be first tested when nets start. Quite possibly the lineup will change several times before the season.
1. Salix Fera (see other thread)
2. Mjolnir SPS (2'11 but could pass for lighter). A bat that gives confidence.
3. Goodwin GT. Biggest bat I've ever seen, regardless of it's weight.
4. New Talisman stunner. 23 straight grains of intended-for-mystery-pro goodness. May hold this one back for a while.
5.H4L Hattori 5*. Will be used for at least the early season low bounce tracks.

Lovely collection I must say! Seems like the Hosk has some competition, although you still have a fair way to go...
Thought you had another Talisman as well that had about 2 meter edges, did that not deserve match bat status?
Love your salix's as well. Some serious retro stuff in there. Have you been down there and got one made up? Went down there a while ago, is good fun seeing a bat made up. Shame mine split beyond repair and delaminated, otherwise i'd still be using it! Although I assume not much gets made their anymore with demand increasing...

Really nice selection there jon. Gonna have some tough decisions when the season gets here! Ordered myself one of those Hattori's yesturdays, looking forward to its arrival.

The other Talisman is a bit heavy to be considered as a long term match bat. Perhaps on the right day though...
Never been to Salix, as much as I like their product the people can be a bit difficult and I've known people to drive 3 hours down there only to wait 2 hours for their appointment which lasts only 15 minutes, be given a very poor range of willow to choose from and not able to even take your bat home with you. So not really for me.

I'm jealous

You won't regret it. Mine isn't the best looking example but it reacts as well as anything else off the mallet.

whats this thread looking like now jon with your recent bat sales?
-
This could have been in the for 'sales thread'
he must have something special lying around
-
He is making way for Lavers :D

He is making way for Lavers :D
that was my thinking
either that or the missus put her foot down :)
-
jon, would be good to see pics of your remaining bats.
-
Remaining? Jon is on selling spree!
-
at giveaway prices too might i add. . .
-
haha i reckon hes deefinitely on your xmas card list 100n.o ;)
-
I remember that Jon mentioned he may use one of those old Salixes of his. And I doubt his views on Laver have changed. He's right to an extent. With the amount of money that you spend, you need quality - I reckon if a top top looking cleft came his way he may buy it... :)
Though it's a shame all of these had to go Jon.. :(

I had a Salix Fera performance which was a very nice bat indeed, went very well off the middle. I think I sold it to Peplow who may have sold it to PM7, so ask them and I'm sure they will share their views on it... :)
Salix generally make very solid bats though mate - you can hardly go wrong with them :D
-
Mmmmm
A Murray Goodwin gt ;)
-
Im not sure who bought the Hattori but if you have got bored of it please let me know as id be happy to take it from you ;) I love this profile
-
hey PM7.. did you purchase the salix fera off peplow? if so, how did it perform?
-
yes off ebay wasnt it?? might be making that up haha cant quite remember!
-
No I didnt as I want keen on a bat that had more than 3 owners in such a short space of time.
They are great bats, Fera is not the top of the range but superb nevertheless and Johan and Sam will vouch for that
-
Out of curiosity, which one ended up getting 'match bat' status?

Fair enough Previn, can understand your reservations, though I sold it to Sam as I had too many bats and him likewise. :)
It was a top bat - you won't go wrong with Salux Praguetaz.. :D

An older model Salux, as far as I can remember, Rob.
-

It's ok mate, this place has got enough trolls, we don't need to feed another one.
I must admit though that his post does rank highly amongst the 'looky looky I'm mouthy but ignorant with it' theme. :D
-
in all honesty they all look like bloody good bats made by some of the best.
May i ask what is a troll im not up to this internet speak

A general term for a person who posts with an intention of upsetting or disrupting the normal ways of a forum. Bit like you and I to be honest :D
-
Dave, a troll is usually someone who joins an internet forum and tries to wind up/provoke responses around subjects people feel strongly about etc.
Basically, a timewasting bullshitter with nothing better to do than annoy people from the safety of a laptop.
I am sure you can spot them on this forum, you don't need to look very hard

Some of us don't even need a laptop to spot them. A mirror will do nicely :D
