I used my mclean for the 1st time in the nets over the weekend and where the ball hit the sticker it scuffed the print off. I will upload a picture later.
I suppose you get what you pay for.
-
i think this is y craig started selling them with no stickers as he had trouble the the sticker company

It is a shame because it looked really good before...

declan try hitting the ball in the middle of the bat this generally helps and lots of brand smudge tbh.... ;)
-
they haven't been reverse printed
-
As you know Matt, getting stickers made well is not cheap.
-
O'Brien you little bitch.
-
Should have put a coating on top of them to avoid this smudging occurring
-
Remember the early kookaburra bat stickers doing something similar so it aint just a small brand
-
Has that smudge dramatically altered the bats performance then?
-
No but if you buy a bat you expect the stickers to able to withstand a cricket ball!
-
Hmmm, I think you have to give a bit of Leeway to the tiny independant own brands - and as I say, what gets you the runs? The middle or the stickers?

I'm inclined to disagree. Had these been GN or Kook stickers we would all be kicking off and saying how dare the big brands let their standards slip like this etc etc. We go to the small brands because quality is the one thing we can expect from them. I'm hoping this represents a small bad batch and isn't the norm.

dodgy curry normally Brucey!

I'm inclined to disagree with your disagreement Jon!!
It's precisely because they are small company's that they don't have the marketing budget to apply to developing the expensive best quality stickers. They can't buy the volume to justify it.
Where's your other thread gone - they whipped that off quick didn't they? I was just about to be rude to you!

Well they should of made sure they were good when they brought them.
I give up.
:D
-
That's prob why they removed it as alot of people were planning that
I agree that Craig is just starting out and for the price people pay can't expect perfection
-
Im sure it was a learning curve for craig as it is for most companies that start out...iv got respect for anyone whos willing to give it a try rather than just talk about doing something!
-
I give up.
:D
Is that a promise?
-
Calm down thinus cattus ha ha it won't be the last criticism John posts
-
This may explain why Craig's sticker supplier went bust....
-
Its a poor reflection of the sticker supplier rather than Craig.
Stickers for this job shouldn't have been produced un-laminated & they should've known that.
-
I think I need to explain the situation. As you probably know (as it has been mentioned above), I used a local company who guaranteed the quality etc, so I used them. After getting the stickers in October time, I applied that to the bats, used in indoor games with no issues. Since nets have started, I have used my own bat and found this, and I can only apologise to all people that have purchased a McLean Sports bat. I am now in the process of getting the stickers made by a more reknowned sticker company and everyone who has purchased a McLean bat will receive a set of brand new 2011 stickers in the post, free of charge (I will pay the carriage cost as well).
I hope my reputation has not been tinted by this and if you have any queries, please contact me and I can sort any issues!
-
Put it this way Craig, it wouldn't stop me buying a bat off you if I wanted. It's only a cosmetic issue that can be rectified in the way you have. Not like the bats are snapping in half
-
Think people will see it as part of the learning curve Tom referred to.
We all live & learn
-
Looking forward to receiving my stickers...
-
I appreciate your comments. Looking back, I should have had a bowling machine net with the new stickers, but receiving them in October and no cricket for 6 months, it was a no brainer. Anyway, new stickers have been ordered and I will be PM'ing the people who now own my bats to send replacement stickers.
-
Any news on the softs Craig?
-
And to be fair, the guy who got the peplow vixen thinks it is great.
-
Just out of interest- when I do get these stickers how would I go about taking the old ones off and replacing them without ruining it?
-
Cant complain on your customer service there then Craig, Is my laminate included?
-
Yes the laminate bat will be included. All McLean bats will receive a set of White Vixen stickers.
-
Not received my bat? Did you get it out yesterday?
