Title: After a long hard battle with the postal system
Post by: Perkins17 on February 28, 2011, 05:57:52 PM
After a long hard battle with the postal system (One just disappearing) I finally got a part made from Mike.
It was a long handle long blade bat as that was requested by the buyer (Player at my club :P) It weight nearly 5lb when I first got it :O after nearly 4 hours of shaping and endless time spent sanding I think I have finished ! It now weights just under 2lb 12oz with just 2 grips with stickers and hammer-edge (still to arrive)
After tapping it a few time with the mallet it seems an absolute screamer! Nearly broke the window :P
I will be taking it to nets tomorrow for the buyer to inspect and hopefully for him to say yes so I don’t have to change it any more !

Next to it is his Newbery Navarone which is what the bat is based on with a few tweaks which he asked for such as a larger toe as he has broken the toe countless amounts of times! That weights just under 2lb 11oz

Enjoy !

Good effort mate, everytime I see someone make a bat it makes me want to do it even more. Will try and give it a go this summer hopefully. Don't fancy buying all the tools though!
