i've got a pair of paradox LE's from the pro direct sale, they are knocking in just fine. a pair of premier cru's which i imagine are going to take a while to knock in and a pair of lavers which despite me asking for them being pressed to go from the start as i'd returned a bat to James which i couldn't get to open up at all, i think will take the longest of the lot to knock in, i'm guessing they won't get any match use until the following season.  The redbacks are knocking in very well though and are starting to feel much like my newberys and i'm pretty confident they will be my main match bats this season

Does Sherpa75 have a Noah's ark of cricket bats, hurrah hurrah?

Would love to see a photo of the full collection

One for anyone who felt their redback took time to get going - did Gary knock it in for you?

I got a paradox last September and being lazy I paid for Gary to knock it in (no idea if this was by hand or machine). Only used it once but I got 47 not out and it felt really good, a few big hits included. From reading all these comments I'm tempted to knock it in some more to see if it gets even better.

I've had a few Redbacks now, and they've pretty uniformly flown after giving them an hour or two with the mallet (I'm too lazy/impatient to knock bats in properly)

I got my Redback two years ago, Got Gary to knock it in. As with all his bats he issues a letter saying that it has had about 3/4 hours by hand but it still requires a further 3/4 hours, So did 2 or so more hours then took it to nets against old balls,

I would say after two seasons it has come to life completley the rebound is fantastic.

So all those saying they didnt get much from their Redback, Patience Grasshopper

That's interesting, I didn't get a letter like that with my redback. When I asked Gary if he recommended that I do anything else to prep the bat he just said to oil the toe a few times and stick some shoe goo on it but that was it. Maybe he's changed the way he knocks the bats in.

I reckon I will knock it in a bit more before I use it again.

I've had a Paradox LE from new, and a Allegiance Premier second hand.

I just rounded off and knocked in the edges for about 45 minutes and slowly started using it in nets. From the word go it responded very well.

The Allegiance on the other hand didn't have quite the same rebound and the previous owner said he had the same issue.

good tips lads, after thinking gary had forgotten me,he's just posted one of his out to me.
i generally oil it a couple of time and round the edges off-that's all

one of my mates spent 6 months knocking in his fav bat and it split down the centre in the 1st net session

so i leave it to the gods whether a bat will last these days

I got an Allegance which goes superbly well, and it's not even the LE.
But also an Paradox LE which goes superbly.
The only Redback which I used that didn't go well was the one Pedals had which seemed to take decades to loosen up!!!  :(

Yes, the Paradox LE from Pro Sports Direct taps up very well indeed and doesn't feel like it will need much knocking in.
