Oiling

Hi Guys
Just got my bat back from craig after a refurb. I have nets at 7pm sunday and would like to oil the bat before I put the scuff on
Question
If I apply a light coat of oil now and leave it until 6.45pm sunday, (51 hours time) would I then be able to apply the scuff sheet properly? Would it stick right?
Or do I just put the scuff on the front and oil the back + around the stickers

Ask Craig if he has oiled the bat as part of the refurb (I assume he would have done). If that is the case, the just put the scuff sheet on and oil the rest of the bat.
The scuff sheet seals the moisture of the willow into the bat so it negates the requirement to oil the bat first. The oil also acts as a way of sealing the natural moisture of the bat into it.

I don't think he has oiled it as he said it would be ok to put the stickers straight on and it is quite white and looks dry.
I got the bat in september 2009 with a facing on so the face hasn't been oiled for a while

Don't use the bat Sunday, its only a net. Do it properly and then use it the following sunday...

Yer but wouldn't you rather use somebody else's bat without running the risk of rushing yours...

What is the harm using the bat without the antiscuff on Sunday?
Oil it a bit and net with it on Sunday following which you can lightly sand it with a 320 or 400 sanding paper and then put the antiscuff.
Put bit of cellotape to see if it sticks and depending on the hold/bond decide if it is good time to put the antiscuff.

You dont need to oil and antiscuff the front, do one or the other, both do the same job - prevent moisture from being lost. Oil the back and apply the sheet today

I have put the lightest coat of oil on the face edges, toe and back. I have wiped over the surface get rid of any excess.
It now has 51 hours to soak in and then I will use some scuff sheet off cuts to see if they stick well.
I prefer to oil and scuff it as it gives the wood a bit of colour
