resizing pictures?

i have tried to set up a post to sell a bat earlier today but the pictures im tryingto put on is saying they are too big for the page i am just wondering how to shrink them down :s

Are the pictures uploaded on photobucket? If so its not hard...

i took them with a proper camera and put them straight on to my laptop?
