Anyone suffer from it?

I've just been diagnosed, and was after hints and tips for managing it so that I can still play cricket.

Didn't bowl for 2 seasons, and then started back towards the back end of last year - this year was supposed to be  my comeback as an all-rounder, but this might be a spanner in the works now.

How heavy is your bat? The back of my left elbow gets sore towards the end of the season now I use a heavier bat but it goes away a couple of months after the season ends.

Isn't this the same problem that SRT had? He fixed it with a lighter bat, 3lb went to 2lb13 or 14...

i had this when i was younger, luckily at the time my physio was provided by my football club for free, i remember the guy using sonar on it and it was fine in no time and never had any problems with it since

Have it strapped up mate, and when you feel it twitching, get some ibuprofen gel straight onto it, or use Voltarol. Great stuff for it.

When the pain hits you, alternate soaking it in hot and ice water 5mins at a time. I get it a fair bit and that always works a charm.

You can always get a mate to dig his thumbs in as well to iron out the fibres that are twisted. Hurts like hell

It's really tender at the minute - Doctor has advised to take anti-inflammatories and pain killers.

Is it something that flairs up intermittently, or do you find yourslef managing it constantly?

I had it a bit towards the end of last season, planning on wearing a support when batting this year to help it.

I suffered a couple of seasons ago.  It got progressively worse through the season, until it was absolute agony.  I changed down from 2'13 to 2'9 and the pain stopped (although a winter off probably helped).

It rears it's head every couple of months. I would really recommened you pick up some of this mate. Keep in mind it contains painkillers so don't go mad with it. It's much better than taking oral painkilling tablets as goes straight to the pain.

Try the bathing routine as well. Soak it in ice water for 5mins, then warm water, then back to ice. Do this for 30mins or so. Then try and stretch it out as much as you can, will hurt like fook but you need to straighten out the twisted muscle fibres.

Wear a decent support or strong bandage as well when batting, and soak it after games.

That's kind of the stange thing - it's only started in he last fortnight or so.

I've only netted 4-5 times this year, so it doesn't feel like overuse is factor.

Looks like I might have my Laver and Chase 2.11 bats up for swaps...

I had tennis elbow during the just completed Au season, had a shot of cortisone and it completely disappeared. Highly recommend a cortisone shot although painful.
