Sweep shot
« on: September 21, 2008, 04:35:35 PM »

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to play a normal sweep or a slog sweep? I've played it a few times in training but i've just made a fool of myself?

I tend to play the sweep and slog sweep a fair bit as it's pretty easy to score runs from. I find it a lot harder hitting over the top straight down the ground as I'm not the most heavily built.

My advice would be to practice it a lot before you bring it out in a game, as if you're not confident in the shot then you'll end up not getting the distance or missing the ball etc. I play it to balls full of a good length against Med Pace or Spin, get a mate just to throw you a load of throwdowns and practice it.

I was a very good sweeper at once then i just lost it (like how ive lost my action atm) and i found back the groove for it about 2 months ago so iguess its just a matter of training the shot
