After all the slagging off I have done of  bopara ....... I think I may of had a change of heart , I want him to do well i do not want him in the test arena but he's just human like us all and maybe just maybe there's some talent there .

There is huge talent there but he will be another ramps world beater ability but never convert it to international arena which is a shame

do you think its got anything to do with gooch's involvement with the england squad and essex? Hes been touted as a class act since a young age. maybe pulled into the team a little too early before he found his game mentally. The guy can bat, at county level he has shown that with numerous classy innings but with the exception of a couple at international level he seems to struggle slightly

It can't be a lack of skill, at the moment he is more likely to face a bigger challenge playing county cricket with the current state of the Indian bowling line up. Probably trying too hard - a lot of competition for spots for you English boys at the moment, I imagine he would be feeling the pressure to try and produce something of substance to cement a spot.
