The effects of....
« on: November 20, 2011, 10:05:04 PM »

There might already be topics on this but I simply can't be bothered to hunt through lots of old topics....  :D  :D

What are the actual effects of having blemishes, knots, pin knots, butterfly stains on the face and or back of bats. Do they alter performance as we know they can alter the grade of the willow due to the looks....!?!?!??

Look forward to interesting responses

As far as I know if a bat has a butterfly stain on the face, then it will go like the clappers as well as being extremely strong. I don't think blemishes and stains have any effect at all, and I think knots on the face reduce performance slightly and can be a weak point for the bat. I think.
