Salix Bat Wax
« on: October 16, 2011, 03:23:46 PM »

Anyone used it? Any good or a gimmick? Would you put antiscuff/hammer edge on after?

Thanks in advance!

I used it regularly and I think it's excellent. A thin layer and then wipe down after 90 mins or so with grit 1500 gives an immaculate finish if you ate giving the bat some end of season tlc. Only takes around 2 hours to dry from my experience.

Top quality product!

Does it turn your bats really dark? I tried on my Oblivion once and it turned the bat darker in terms of colour :(

I don't know about turning it darker. Of course, oil will naturally change the colour of a blade, but with the wax, providing you only give the bat a light coat, there won't be too much change to the colour if the willow compared to raw linseed oil.

Hmm okay so you just use your fingers and or tissue/cotton etc

I just use a cloth (I find old shirts ate pretty good) and just apply via that method. Im sure that are a million and one ways of doing it, but that works for me.

Cool thanks everyone, i'm terrified of over oiling a bat and this looked like good stuff.

would you put anti scuff on after? and are there instructions on the tin?
