Off the shelf or custom

Howzit everybody

As you can tell Im new to the forum but have been having a little look at everything it has to offer. After a lay off from cricket for the last two seasons its time to make a come back but as I have no kit I thought I would start with a bat. (as you do  :D)

In the past I have used a
GM cannon.
Kookaburra bubble.
CA gold.
SG Cobra. (Top of the range at the time) Probably my best bat ever.
Bulldog growler and basher both very very nice. Basher was fantastic for the money.

So have tried a few which makes choosing a new bat rather difficult. All the bat makers on the forum have some fantastic bats and if i could I would have one of each. I have also been looking on ebay at the CA12000 TRD which looks fantastic but there is such a price difference I'm not sure if the cheaper ones are fake or they all fake or all the real deal.

As for specs I'm after a light bat with a big middle (2.8lb) I had thought of going for a 2.11lb and then just shaving about 15mm off the toe to lower the weight a little but as I know nothing about the science of bat balance an pick up  I don't even know if this would do the trick. Also as the pitches over here in the UK don't get up to much I guess a middle to lower middle is the way forward?

So I guess I'm after any hints and tips or experience from you lot to help me make up my mind

Thanks

Puma Calibre - In my experiences they're very light with a good pickup, ping like made, and also have a very low middle. What's not to like?
