Anyone got/getting a Recoil?
« on: November 10, 2011, 06:34:46 PM »

Just looking through the new gear out for 2012 and the Kookaburra Recoil draws my attention. Guaranteed 38mm edges and huge swell? Anyone got any genuine pics of this bat (not just the stock image)?

I am definitely considering getting one of these, The 250 looks like a good deal for approximately £80.

I am getting quite a few, and going to Kookaburra within the next 10 to 12 days to hand pick my bats

I was in allrounder tonight and they just had 4 come in, I've got them to put away the lightest one. Typical 250 style face,  grains are wonky with specks, nothing to write home about but the edges are big!

I think they asked for 2'9oz bats.

Thanks for posting some pictures. I think a trip to the cricket shop is in order!

As a side note, the kooks site says similar things about edge size for all the bats now. Big edges are the 2012 thing for kooks!

Kahuna 34mm
Recoil 34mm
Blade 34mm
Rogue 32mm

That said we reckoned the shop ones tonight were around 40mm. Pickup wasn't bad for what felt like a big piece of wood, slightly heavier than a GM Icon of a similar weight. Obviously the higher middle helps. Handle is quite thin as well.

I didn't look, it was about 5 mins before nets and I was in a rush. Will pop round tomorrow evening and have another look.
