Stradivarius bats....anyone else used one?
« on: January 18, 2009, 09:03:43 PM »

I managed to get a part sponsership deal with bestcricketbats.com in Holland using their Stradivarius range back in 2003. I was shocked when Ash told me to "water" my bat after using with the a damp towel....just a light coat....to my surprise this was the best bat I had EVER picked up....not much to look at the Duke of Alahambra I was given had amazing ping and the experienced first teamers from my club back in Perth we queuing to get one.  4 years later, 1000's of runs and shed loads of tape, I have had to retire the old railway sleeper. Just wanted to know if anyone else has used any of their gear and what they thought of it?

I will post pictures of the Duke of Alahambra in it's present state later.....even in it's current state, I am amazed at the ping it still has!!

Saw a Stradvarius proto bat with holes drilled through in, really strange looking thing. Got pics somewhere, didn't seem that special shape wise but willow was nice; two tone wood with lots of grains if I recall correctly.

I've seen the shirts, trousers, and pads in the flesh but sure the bats were made by Laver.

If they were made by Laver, that may explain why they so good....min really was amazing!! didn't look overall fantastic but preformed for years brilliantly....moved onto Redback now and I'm sure the beast Gary has done for me will be just as good...

I get a pic of my Strad asap.
