Hunts County 5 star Insignia stickered as a Clipper
« on: December 10, 2011, 10:51:08 PM »

Picked up this bat from a fellow CBF member. Bat was on the way out due to some cracks around the handle and no amount of gluing helped. I was left with the decision to bin or rehandle it, since it looked a nice piece of wood I chose the latter. This how it came back:-

Bat is around 2'11 with 20mm edges, 60mm spine, 30mm toe. I assume the cracks are all fixed now the bat has been rehandled. Probably going to net a couple of times to make sure the repair has done the job and then sell it. Problem for me is the handle is too thick and the weight is 2oz over my maximum weight, which assumes good pickup.

funny you should say that. Had a net with Simmy/Ryan and the OS lads Sunday. Took it into the net and 6 balls later changed my bat. Why, well I'm not a bad batsman and apart from the odd play and miss, I do hit the ball on most occasions somewhere away from the edges. That said, it tends to be a pattern from toe to shoulder lol! However, I timed more balls with this stick in 6 balls than I do in a net session normally. One shot off Simdog fairly screamed off the middle and another poke off the legs pinged away. Very impressed and if I can adapt to the thicker handle/weight then I'm onto a winner.

My misses did include wearing a Ryan bouncer on the shoulder  :-[
