Think you guys are being a bit harsh on someone who's just a kid, I'm sure plenty on here have knocked a bat in incorrectly before they knew better.

Someone has been grosly misinformed on how to knock in a bat in this video - NOT for the queezy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmKZTyiessM&feature=related

Do you have to squeeze cricket bats hard to get cricket bat oil?

Don't laugh at this, it's JohnnyW in his early days!

not being harsh on him, it's the prat who told him to knock the back in lol .Maybe he's never knocked a bat in before and he received a brand new top of the range B&S and asked "a mate" to help. His "mate" thought for a laugh he'd get him to destroy his bat and film the whole event on youtube for posterity.

Poor sod.

I have not had much time to spend on the bat so far but I have some photos which I need to upload when I am home later. I will try to do a bit more knocking in tonight aswell

I look forward to seeing them.

Have not had much time to spend on this but here are a couple of photos I took a few nights ago . I have done more on it since and will take some more photos when I get a chance

Got a few small compression cracks on the face but I am not worried about them as the bat was softly pressed and a scuff sheet will hold it together

great thread guys, nice to see some different views

just got myself a natural finished bat,it's been so long since ive seen one of these forgot what to do....
what do we reckon

5 coats of oil like Julian Millichamp suggests,a couple of light coats then an anti scuff or the old Mark Waugh way of knocking in bats(great players he was)

''the bloke brings me them, i take it out of the wrapper, smash the c*** out of it in the nets and if it aint broke use it in the test match...sport''

quality.
