Scales
« on: January 07, 2012, 01:14:42 AM »

I brought a new set of scales and after a bit of weight testing I was cursing the sodding thing. Bats I knew were more than 2'10 were coming in at 2'7. Yet when I stuck a 100g bar of chocolate it was pretty much bang on. I was scratching my head and then I noticed something - the lbs was to 3 decimal places. Anyway I googled 1169 grams and funny enough it came out to 2'9.2, pretty much bang on. That'll teach me to buy a cheap set of scales lol

Not really odd. You're getting mixed up with decimals, the old imperial system isn't like metric.

16 divided by 10 is 1.6.

1.6 times 5.77 = 9.2

Or more simply

1169 grams is 41.2 ounces.

16 ounces in a pound.

2lb 9.2ozs.
