Worst Scuff Sheet... EVER
« on: January 18, 2012, 09:27:55 PM »

Well, after needing a very cheap scuff sheet very quick, I turned to eBay. Found a scuff sheet for £2 inc p&p, so thought it was worth a punt. It was readers as well, so I (foolishly) assumed it would be of decent quality. When it arrived, I was fairly happy. Until I took it off the backing. In the past, people have described bad scuff sheets as 'similar to sellotape' and 'shrink wrap-esque'. However, this changed all that. The plastic item it most accurately resembled was cling film. It was tearable. Absolutely fudging awful. In the future I'll spend a bit more.

these are absolutely rubbish. A cling film is better quality.

Even the Kookaburra one is rubbish

Worst one I had was a bat armour one off eBay too. Went on ok but ended up cracked loads with massive chunks falling off after a few net sessions.

Can't see why anyone would look any further than on the forum for both price and quality.

The clear ones are very good that fit the width of the bat face and are self healing

Used hammer edge style previously but they masked over a rather nasty crack in my bat so may not be great in terms of this ???

Same here, bought the bat armour ones about a year before I came on here. The seller from eBay said he'd never had this happen before and sent me a replacement that I've never used.

Got some good self healing scuff sheets now from TLB so no more cheap nasty ones for me.

Has anyone seen or used ones from Chase, I'm sure read something about them being easy to remove and possibly put back on (but then again I could of just made that up in my head)

I saw one of the ADS ones up at Chase last night. Myself and the Hosk did a double take at first as we didn't think the bat had a scuff on it at all! They look very cool. They are self healing I think and very thin, but knowing Dan, they'll work well......

If you check out this thread there is a picture of a bat with one on...

Just bought a self healing one from Monsieur Peplow. I put this one on my bat (don't know why) and then removed it 20 minutes later after realisation of it's true awfulness.

Does anyone know much about ADS sheets, how are they different to the others? Never really been a big fan of scuff sheets but I think that's just the look of them when they get dirty.
