Body strength

I'm a 6'1" 15 year old opening batsman that only weighs 60kilos, for some reason I struggle to gain weight, does anyone know of a good way to get stronger and bigger to increase batting performance?

You are still growing so I would advise you to concentrate on freehand exercises more. Push-ups, dips and squats--plenty of times with repetitions should be a good start. Try jumping squat (40 X5) and your legs should be in good shape. Just remember to put your weight on your heel as well (in other words, your whole feet should touch the ground after you jump) while doing it and not on your toes. Remember, the upper body becomes strong only when the legs become strong.

You will gain weight naturally as well!!

I am 17 and put on 2 stone over xmas which makes me 12 stone so it will appear eventually...

As others have said, you're not the right age to try and put on too much weight. Strengthen your upper body with push-ups and sit-ups and try some squats with weights that aren't too heavy for your lower half.

Remember, weight isn't necessarily what you're looking for here, it's your sport specific muscles you're looking to strengthen.

I was 6ft3 and 11st at 15 as did too much exercise (4 sports for 6 teams plus gym) so could not put weight on but I'm now 6ft4 16st (was 18st) you will get bigger with age but I don't reccomend my weight gain program as was beer and KFC but chicken is a good food for gaining weight

Don't rush it! Filling out takes time!!!
Growing and filling out does happen at different times in life for everyone. So best just keep yourself as fit and agile as possible and let the body fill out when it supposed to!
The important thing is to look after fitness and core strength for all aspects of cricket. And also work on flexibility and speed for fielding!

Also at your age I highly recommend Swimming as it puts no pressure on growing bones ;)

As pete said a strong core is also vital as this can improve general strength but massively in cricket!!

Strength conditionoing I would say rather than bulk eg tremlett reduced upper body to help avoid injury + all england bowlers work on conditiong high reps low weight.
