They wouldnt drop freddie. If they were serious about this they would have kept him or offered him a mentor/coach role. Stuey was one of Queenslands best leaders. And why would they drop him if he got the captaincy? It makes no sense.

Can't remember exactly who it was, but heard about an interview where an ex-Aussie test player was asked how the Aussies handled 'difficult' players. The reply came (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Simple, they don't get picked - look at Law and Hodge"...

Whether that was sour grapes or something more substantial I'm not sure, but I guess you never know what goes on behind dressing room doors.

Still a shame to see him go, class act.

Law's ended up at Derbyshire now, will be a good signing to help bring on the younger players.

Nah, Chris Rogers is captain still I think.

Looks like Law will only be playing in the One Dayer's and 20/20's. More info is here: http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/sport/Cricket-Law-joins-Derbyshire-new-campaign/article-797152-detail/article.html

I thought he would return back to Australia but obviously not, a player of his ability will be a top coach in the future I'm confident of that and perhaps a club should look at him as a long term coach or director of Cricket. Big fan of Stu and id of liked Lancashire to retain him but it jobs for the boys down there re Watkinson.

he's only going to play friends provident and twenty20 games, which is dissapointing as that means it will only be around 10-15 matches in the whole season
