Hi guys,

I thought it would be a good idea to devote a thread to "bat related definitions" which could assist all cricketers when purchasing a cricket bat as most of us are not aware of every single aspect relating to a cricket bat. For example:

Sapwood = is.........(picture)
Butterfly stain = is......... and affects the bat by.......(picture)
Knot etc etc

A specific request to all the knowledgable guys and bat makers to contribute pls, thank you.

yeah something like that!! I dont think there is any website etc which has that information and custom bats would be the first; it should be comprehensive with actual pictures of the bat if possible; there are so many definitions which the average customer is not aware of; maybe the suggestions could be put forward in this thread with the final agreed summary (by mods) on a separate thread.
