Vice
« on: April 07, 2012, 09:52:45 AM »

Dear All,

I am looking to make a small workshop in the little balcony I have in the apartment.

My idea is to fix a wood plateform ( 80 mm by 30 mm ) along the wall and fix the vice along side.

The problem is the balcony is too narrow and I figured this could be the size which will allow me some space to work with.

Please advice what type of "Vice" I can use for this purpose which will allow me to hold the bat at an angle.

Also any ideas on the workshop would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

I hope the flats not rented as the landlord won't be best please to find a "workshop" on your balcony. Also I don't thick your neighbours would be happy with all the wood shavings falling on their balcony. I'm not saving don't do it, just give it some thought on if it will affect anyone else. Might save some issues in the long term.

However, if you still want to go through with it any metal vice would be good, just make sure it has an opening bigger than 120mm. Prob best checking you you have enough working room first before making any alterations or buying any tools.

Thanks for your inputs, I will think it over the issues you have listed.
