Probably sounds like an odd question but do people generally buy the same shoes size in spikes as they do in trainers or half a size up?

I always go a half size up! Then I know I can comfortably get a pair of thick socks on and possibly even some strapping if needed.....

Always buy same size and always been fine. Not sure about cricket boots, but always order Nike running shoes half a size smaller based on advice from the shop that did my gait analysis

Bought a pair of puma calibre convertible at the end of last season for about �20. Same size as my previous boots and my regular shoes (size 10).

Tried them on now and realise they are crippling. Currently trying to break them in (wearing them at moment - minus spikes). I've never had to buy bigger sized boots, but these are my first pair of pumas - which i understand are generally quite tight.

Seems a little weird, but all my main footwear is Adidas yet they're different sizes.

Football boots are 10.5
Spikes 10
Trainers A - 11
Trainers B - 10.

I'll buy what size dependant on what feels most comfortable

Depends on brand. Puma always a size larger but the calibres are very narrow and I sold them on. Basics and Adidas I go the same size.

I like shoes really roomy, so always buy a size too big. Would agree with Tim though, Pumas come up a bit small.

Just a question, when you buy trainers how much gap should be there between the tip and the toes ?.I have a wide feet but when I go a half size bigger the trainers feel too big for me. Will 1.5 inch or above approx be o.k ?

Does anyone know how good kookaburra boots are for fitting? Managed to win a cheap pair of new Pro Flex 360 boots off ebay - so i may just replace my crippling calibres.

Ive not really had trouble with Adidas, always had the trainers and football boots, size 10 on the dot.

The only trouble I had was that I bought size 9.5 thinking that would be OK (had no 10 in stock and I wanted them), turns out it crippled me. But a year and a half down the line, they feel OK.

All these responses go to show that buying shoes online is a lottery. Unless you know what fits you (i.e. you have tried the actual pair on already in a shop or you already own a pair) it is a gamble. But, some of those online deals are soooo tempting......

As a general rule, Puma and Adidas are � to 1 size too small, Asics and Nike are normal sized, but each model could be different.

How do you know it's not Asics and Nike that 1/2 to 1 size too big O_o

My Asics running shoes are 12s. My Adidas running shoes are 13s. Bit odd, but seems to work.
