For the more mature keepers
« on: March 29, 2012, 03:21:38 PM »

Following on from my classic pair of slazengers, I've sourced these two pairs. A pair of Alan Knott 'club' gloves don't know the year of manafacture, not the prettiest glove but they are so soft and feel lovely when taking the ball

And another pair of Alan Knott 'Test' These are cica 1975 and need a bit of work and re facing courtosy of John Copus (in black rubber as well)

Not everyones cup of tea old classic gloves, but I'm an old classic bloke :)

What's the webbing like on these old school gloves? Are they considered legal by today's standards?

The webbing on the 'test' glove is very small and on the 'club' glove is around the same size as on a pair of SS Gladiators.

Yea looks quite small even by today's standards. Wonder when the huge pocket webbing started coming in then. Thanks for the pics

Not sure but I bought a pair of Kooks silver 'Jack Russell' in the late 80's and they had a massive web on them. Really embarasing if you dropped a one handed catch as the ball litarally disappeared in the web when you closed your hand :D
