I was investigating the use of d3o in cricket gear (specifically thigh pads, boxes and helmets) and, predictably, came across the issue that d3o material is very heavy, which got me thinking that they can't use much in the GM gear or it would weigh a tonne. Do they actually use a lot or only enough to warrant the name being slapped on the product? Anyone wiling to chop up a pair of d3o pads? Any info Streak-dawg?

I have the D3O 909 pads - the only place that it says there is any D3O is in the knee protector. Not sure about the gloves.

Heavy and not cheap to work with hence rationing of it in the products I would imagine. Gloves had it in index and middle finger that I had previously

I have the 909 D30 gloves, the d30 is in the first 2 fingers on the bottom hand

I'm pretty sure the only difference between 909 and original in the pittards palms. Doesn't seem to be more D30 in them

Your right, D30 is relatively heavy, very expensive but provides excellent shock absorption, so we use it in the key areas. There's no need to cut any pads or gloves, here's the info.....

909 d30
Central Knee bolster

Gloves
Index and Middle finger of the bottom hand (Visible on both)
