Anyone recommend a bat for indoor cricket
« on: August 18, 2012, 11:08:45 PM »

I play a lot of Indoor Cricket (8 a side) in the winter and off-season, we use those softer (yellow) cricket balls. Heavy bats and a good middle are no use as the shots played are completely different to outdoor cricket. Used my Fusion Sports and GM Maxi are both were just too heavy for indoor.

Anyone recommend a bat that they have used to good effect for Indoor Cricket? I imagine something very light?

I would say something light with thick ish edges, and concaving to help the pickup. Just something which you can wave around and comfortably hit the ball pretty much anywhere for runs. Most important thing is running fast, as you can't hit everything straight, so just make sure to practice calling with other batsmen and judging a run quickly! Just my opinion though, others could probably tell you their experiences. :)

Thanks, will see what bats people have had luck with. Definately something light because the most effective shot always seems to be the cross bat shot that you hit down into the ground towards the side netting.
